Cardiac disorders in cancer patients pose significant challenges to disease prognosis. While it has been established that these are linked cells, the precise underlying mechanisms remain elusive. In this study, we investigated impact of cancerous ascites from rat colonic carcinoma cell line RCN9 on H9c2 cardiomyoblast cells. We found reduced mitochondrial volume, increased oxidative stress, and decreased membrane potential leading apoptosis autophagy. Although fluid contained a substantial amount high-mobility group box-1 (HMGB1), observed neutralizing HMGB1 with specific antibody mitigated damage inflicted myocardial Our mechanistic investigations revealed activated both nuclear factor κB phosphoinositide 3-kinases-AKT signals through receptors, namely receptor for advanced glycation end products toll-like receptor-4, thereby promoting contrast, treatment berberine (BBR) induced expression miR-181c-5p miR-340-5p while suppressing Furthermore, BBR cardiomyocytes, consequently mitigating HMGB1-induced damage. validated protective effects cachectic model. These findings underscore strong association between cachexia, highlighting as promising therapeutic agent protection suppression modulation signaling system.

Autophagy, a key cellular degradation and recycling pathway, is critical for maintaining homeostasis responding to metabolic environmental stress. Evidence age-related autophagic dysfunction its implications in chronic diseases including neurodegeneration accumulating. However, as complex, multi-step process, autophagy can be challenging measure, particularly humans human aging- disease-relevant models. This review describes the links between macroautophagy, aging, diseases. We present three novel cell models, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), primary dermal fibroblasts (PDFs), induced neurons (iNs), which serve essential tools studying flux assessing potential biomarker aging. Unlike traditional these models retain age- disease-associated molecular signatures, enhancing their relevance studies. The development of robust methodologies measuring holds promise advancing our understanding autophagy’s role aging diseases, ultimately facilitating discovery therapies enhance health outcomes.

Aim Sarcopenia is recognized as an age‐related muscle disease, but there has been no comprehensive analysis of what different between normal aging and sarcopenia, with awareness the worldwide research to date. Therefore, in this study, we used text mining PubMed articles on sarcopenia focused our bioinformatics items that have identified. Methods This study compared gene‐level changes identify sarcopenia‐specific gene using high‐throughput sequencing data. In particular, was pathways mechanisms interest research, focus more these mechanisms. Results We identified common aging. Interleukin‐7 were associated both conditions. Although phagosome‐related suggested sarcopenia‐specific, significant phagosome formation, lysosome‐related mitophagy‐related groups However, genes nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase catalytic subunit family shown be possibly altered, suggesting involvement oxidative stress regulatory pathways. Conclusions A analysis, complemented by extant literature, might not characterized a failure autophagy whole, rather, disruption regulation, particularly subunit‐related at subsequent stage after phagosome‐lysosome fusion. Sarcopenia a progressive and multifactorial musculoskeletal syndrome characterized by loss of muscle mass function, poses significant global health challenge, particularly in aging populations. Epidemiological studies reveal that sarcopenia affects approximately 5-10% the general population, with prevalence rates escalating dramatically after age 60 to reach 10-27% older adults. This age-associated increase contributes significantly healthcare burdens elevating risks disability, frailty, mortality. Despite its profound impact, current clinical approaches remain limited. While resistance exercise protein supplementation form cornerstone management, their efficacy is often constrained poor long-term adherence variable individual responses, highlighting urgent need for more comprehensive personalized treatment strategies. The pathogenesis complex influenced various factors, including aging, inflammation, nutritional deficits, physical inactivity, mitochondrial dysfunction. However, precise molecular mechanisms underlying this condition are still not fully understood. Recent research has made strides elucidating intricate contributing sarcopenia, revealing novel insights into cellular underpinnings. Notably, emerging evidence points pivotal role dysfunction, altered myokine profiles, neuromuscular junction degeneration progression. Additionally, breakthroughs stem cell therapy, exosome-based treatments, precision nutrition offer promising avenues intervention. review aims synthesize latest advancements research, focusing on contributions We explore trends such as senescence, epigenetic regulation, targeted therapeutic interventions could reshape future managing sarcopenia. The use its positive effects in regenerative and preventive medicine implies this process be investigated under the conditions various therapeutic factors. Objective To investigate influence gender, age somatic-morphological factors on autophagy processes induced by a comprehensive wellness program as expressed marker protein Beclin-1. Methods A prospective observational study involved 107 patients monitored before after procedures. All participants underwent clinic OOO Centr Zdorovie (Maykop, Russia). was conducted periods September‒December 2020 January 2021. measuring concentration Beclin-1 blood 12 days In order characterize degree activation process, index “delta-Beclin-1” introduced (difference between initial level registered days). response evaluated terms upward or downward direction (positive/negative delta- value, respectively). effect procedures functional systems organism determined accordance with laboratory tests (complete count, lipid profile), morphometric evaluation, assessment body composition impedance monitoring. obtained data were processed using SPSS Statistics 26.0 (IBM, USA). Results Monitoring revealed that basic activity is age-specific significantly lower individuals over 60 years compared both healthy persons. This correlation appears more pronounced obese (r = -0.59). men 30% than women, however, set mentioned increased 7%. found not all responded unidirectionally procedures: 49 out 77 showed increase concentration, while 28 — decrease. Patients who participated demonstrated negative expression age, those responding mass index, weight fat mass. source can refer mass, women lean especially mature period II (36‒60 years).
