Succinic
acid
(SA)
is
an
important
building-block
chemical
that
serves
as
a
precursor
for
wide
variety
of
chemicals
and
materials
with
significant
market
value.
In
this
work,
the
suitability
industrial
sorghum
grain
feedstock
SA
production,
using
Actinobacillus
succinogenes
DSM
22257
Basfia
succiniciproducens
22022,
was
studied.
The
addition
phosphates
salts,
yeast
extract
corn
steep
liquor
to
sorghum-based
medium
necessary
achieving
best
results.
A.
showed
better
fermentation
kinetics
higher
concentration
than
B.succiniciproducens,
reaching
28.8
g/L
at
24
h
21.7
48
B.
succiniciproducens.
When
scaled-up
bioreactor,
no
differences
when
MgCO3
or
CO2
without
pH
control,
respectively.
These
results
suggest
production
has
potential
sequestration.

Abstract
The
production
of
succinic
acid
from
corn
stover
is
a
promising
and
sustainable
route;
however,
during
the
pretreatment
stage,
byproducts
such
as
organic
acids,
furan-based
compounds,
phenolic
compounds
generated
inhibit
microbial
fermentation
process.
Selecting
strains
that
are
resistant
to
stress
utilizing
nondetoxified
hydrolysate
feedstock
for
could
be
effective.
In
this
study,
A.
succinogenes
CICC11014
was
selected
original
strain,
stress-resistant
strain
M4
obtained
by
atmospheric
room
temperature
plasma
(ARTP)
mutagenesis
further
screening.
Compared
exhibited
twofold
increase
in
resistance
113%
when
used
substrate.
By
conducting
whole-genome
resequencing
comparing
it
with
four
nonsynonymous
gene
mutations
two
upstream
regions
base
losses
were
identified.
