With both ferrocene and air as the redox catalysts, for first time, low-cost natural ilmenite (FeTiO3) was successfully used photocatalytic bond formations. Under assistance of a traceless H-bond, HCHO methylene reagent, variety imidazo[1,5-a]quinoxalinones were semi-heterogeneously photosynthesized in high yields with good functional group compatibility.

Thermal, photochemical, or electrochemical-mediated decarboxylation of oxamic acids generate nucleophilic carbamoyl radicals, which react efficiently with unsaturated systems, but also amines, alcohols and thiols under oxidative conditions.

A photocatalyst-free and EDA complex-enabled radical cascade cyclization reaction of inactive alkenes with bromodifluoroacetamides was reported for the divergent synthesis fluorine-containing tetralones quinazolinones. In this transformation, persulfates as electron donors difluoro bromamide acceptors generate complex. This is a promising photochemical method advantages such mild conditions, simple operation, being metal-free, excellent functional group tolerance.

A metal-free photocatalytic radical annulation of 2-cyanoaryl acrylamides with [CF 2 HPPh 3 ] + Br − to give 4-amino-quinolinones in good yields was developed. An easily obtained organophotocatalyst and green solvent acetone/H O were utilized the protocol.

We report on a visible light-mediated cascade carbamoylation/cyclization of acrylamides using dihydropyridyl carbamoyl donors derived from alkyl amines. Diversely selected including 2-cyano-N-arylacrylamides, indolyl- and benzimidazolyl acrylamides, 2-alkynyl-N-aryl participate in this reaction, providing products good yields. The highlights photochemical method include the application amine-derived donors, peroxide-free reaction conditions, broad scope.

The incorporation of amide groups into biologically active molecules has been proven to be an efficient strategy for drug design and discovery. In this study, we present a simple practical method the synthesis amide-containing quinazolin-4(3H)-ones under transition-metal-free conditions. This is achieved through carbamoyl-radical-triggered cascade cyclization N3-alkenyl-tethered quinazolinones. Notably, carbamoyl radical generated in situ from oxidative decarboxylative process oxamic acids presence (NH4)2S2O8.
