Optical chemical sensors are widely applied in many fields of modern analytical practice, due to their simplicity preparation and signal acquisition, low costs, fast response time. Moreover, the construction most optical requires neither wire connections with detector nor sophisticated energy-consuming hardware, enabling wireless sensor development for a fast, in-field online analysis. In this review, last five years progress (from 2017 2021) field persistent organic pollutants (POPs) is provided. The operating mechanisms, transduction principles types sensing materials employed single selective multisensory systems reviewed. selected examples applications reported demonstrate benefits drawbacks use POPs assessment.

Abstract Mechanical stimuli have rather ambiguous and less‐specific features among various physical stimuli, but most materials exhibit a certain level of responses upon mechanical inputs. Facile access to new one-walled meso-substituted phenylboronic acid-functionalized calix[4]pyrrole (C4P) has been revealed for the first time, starting from cost-effective and easily accessible materials.
