The

are
nowadays
widely
accepted.
Hence,
the
dual
(or
multiple)
targeting
of
is
an

addressed.
In
this
context,
metal
complexes
have
gained
considerable
importance
effectiveness
in
medicinal
chemistry.
Particularly,
N-heterocyclic
carbene
(NHC)
with
transition
metals
emerged
as
very
promising
compounds.
Among
myriad
NHC–metal
complexes,
those
bearing
silver
will
subject
review.
Numerous
Ag(I)-NHC
revealed
high
antibacterial
and/or
anticancer
properties,
even
higher
than
reference
drugs.
Herein,
we
summarize
most
recent
studies
while
also
discussing
proposed
mechanism
action
offering
interesting

carbenes
(NHCs)
are
a
class
of
compounds
known
for
their
biological
activities
which
the
presence
therapeutic
metal
can
enhance.
The
discovery

anticancer
metallodrug
led

research
into
other
metal‐based
drugs,
not

antimicrobial,
antirheumatic,

years.

liquids
(ILs),
based
on
1,3-dialkylimidazolium
cations,
are

solvent
components

types
of
biomass

biorefinery
approaches.
Unless
washing
and
sample
preparation

been
carried
out
very
carefully,
analytical
samples
often
contain
residual
traces
such
ionic
liquids.
These
residues
can
compromise
the
quality
physicochemical
analyses,
as
was
demonstrated
monosaccharide
analysis
after
hydrolysis
by
gas
chromatography,
high-performance
thin-layer
ion
chromatography
(IC),
