The human microbiome harbors a diverse array of microbes which establishes mutually beneficial relation with the host in healthy conditions, however, dynamic homeostasis is influenced by both and environmental factors. Smoking contributes to modifications oral, lung gut microbiome, leading various diseases, such as periodontitis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Crohn's ulcerative colitis cancers. However, exact causal relationship between smoking alteration remains be further explored.

Colorectal adenomas are precursors of CRC. Recently, the gut microbiota, i.e., collection microbes residing in our gut, has been recognized as a key player CRC development. There have number microbiota profiling studies for colorectal adenoma and CRC; however, fewer considered metabolome, which serves chemical interface between host microbiota. Here, we conducted metabolome study analyzed metabolomic profiles together with paired composition profiles. We found several signatures that were associated some potentially indicative future This highlights potential early-driver metabolites pathogenesis guides further targeted experiments thus provides an important stepping stone toward developing better prevention strategies.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. While CRC thought to be an interplay between genetic and environmental factors, several lines evidence suggest involvement gut microbiota in promoting inflammation tumor progression. Gut refer ~40 trillion microorganisms that inhabit human gut. Advances next-generation sequencing technologies metagenomics have provided new insights into microbial ecology helped linking CRC. Many studies carried out humans animal models emphasized role certain bacteria, such as Fusobacterium nucleatum, enterotoxigenic Bacteroides fragilis, colibactin-producing Escherichia coli, onset progression Metagenomic opened up avenues for application diagnosis, prevention, treatment This review article summarizes development its use a biomarker predict disease potential therapeutic applications.

The global incidence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is steadily escalating, with discernible linkage to the intricate terrain intestinal microecology. microbiota orchestrates a dynamic equilibrium in organism, metabolizing dietary-derived compounds, process which profoundly impacts human health. Among these short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), result from microbial metabolic processes, play versatile role influencing host energy homeostasis, immune function, and intermicrobial signaling, etc. SCFAs emerge as pivotal risk factors CKD's development prognosis. This paper review elucidates impact gut metabolites, specifically SCFAs, on CKD, highlighting their modulating inflammatory responses, oxidative stress, cellular autophagy, milieu, signaling cascades. An in-depth comprehension interplay between kidney disease pathogenesis may pave way for utilization biomarkers CKD progression prognosis or novel adjunctive therapeutic strategies.
