Large amounts of enriched cadmium (Cd) in the environment seriously threatens healthy and sustainable development aquaculture industry greatly restricts food processing industry. Studying distribution toxic effects Cd fish, as well possible on human body, is very significant. A large number studies have shown that accumulation fish are biologically specific, cause tissue differences, damage integrity structure function, antioxidant defense system, reproductive regulation immune system. The physiological, biochemical, enzyme, molecular, gene expression levels change with different concentrations times exposure, these changes closely related to target sites action tissues fish. Therefore, occur multiple tissues, systems, levels.

In the last century, industrial activities increased and caused multiple health problems for humans animals. At this moment, heavy metals are considered most harmful substances their effects on organisms humans. The impact of these toxic metals, which have no biological role, poses a considerable threat is associated with several problems. Heavy can interfere metabolic processes sometimes act as pseudo-elements. zebrafish an animal model progressively used to expose diverse compounds find treatments different devastating diseases that human beings currently facing. This review aims analyse discuss value models in neurological conditions, such Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s (PD), particularly terms benefits limitations exist.

This chapter delves into the combined molecular toxicity mechanisms of heavy metal mixtures, focusing on their pervasive presence due to industrial activities and impact human health. The authors highlight significance bioaccumulation metals through ingestion inhalation, which can lead various health implications. highlights multifaceted effects mixtures cardiovascular system, contributing diseases like atherosclerosis hypertension oxidative stress vascular inflammation. It details interactions these with proteins, particularly inhibition ATPases promotion damage, leading dysfunction. briefly touches upon link between cadmium exposure prostate cancer, emphasizing need for further investigation underlying this association. Additionally, it mentions potential zinc sulfate olfactory neuron subtypes in adult fish, suggesting that disrupt sensory systems aquatic organisms. Moreover, explores neurotoxicity metals, discussing nervous system neurodevelopmental disorders. also examines male female reproductive systems, evidence disruptions hormone levels, sperm quality, fertility. call enhanced monitoring levels general population better understand its They emphasize research by contribute health, inform clinical treatments public interventions. By highlighting bioaccumulation, stress, time-dependent responses, study sheds light urgent intervention strategies mitigate adverse environment.

Bifenthrin, a third-generation synthetic pyrethroid, is widely used as an agricultural insecticide. However, it can flow into surface and groundwater, leading to adverse consequences such immunotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, hormone dysregulation, or neurotoxicity. Nevertheless, the entire range of its neurotoxic consequences, particularly in aquatic organisms, remains unclear. In this study, we conducted extensive examination how exposure bifenthrin affects behavior nervous system function vertebrates, using zebrafish model multiple-layered assays. We exposed wild-type transgenic lines [tg(elavl3:eGFP) tg(mbp:mGFP)] from <3 h post-fertilization (hpf) 120 hpf. Our findings indicate that concentrations 103.9 362.1 μg/L significantly tail-coiling response at 24 hpf touch-evoked responses 72 Moreover, has significant effect on various aspects body contact, distance between subjects, moved, turn angle. attribute these effects changes acetylcholinesterase dopamine levels, which decrease concentration-dependent manner. Furthermore, neuroimaging revealed neurogenesis defects, e.g., shortened brain axon widths, demyelination oligodendrocytes Schwann cells. Additionally, transcription genes related neurodevelopment (e.g., gap43, manf, gfap, nestin, sox2) were upregulated neurotransmitters nlgn1, drd1, slc6a4a, ache) was downregulated. summary, our data shows detrimental neurodevelopmental neurotransmission systems embryo/larvae model.
