We show that phenyl-bis(triazole) groups dimerise in solution. A ditopic receptor containing two motifs predictably self-associates through C–H⋯N hydrogen bonding to give crystalline tape structures.

The molecular interactions of water-soluble crown resorcinarenes with choline were analyzed. To this end, four sulfonated synthesized and characterized by ATR-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR spectroscopy. interaction studies carried out through FT-IR spectroscopy, 1H-NMR titrations, conductimetric which it was possible to determine that the complexes formed 1:1 stoichiometries host, in addition showing good electronic cavity macrocycle, demonstrating great potential for host–guest systems detection aqueous media. Proteins exhibit remarkable molecular recognition by dynamically adjusting their conformations to selectively interact with ligands at specialized binding sites. To bind hydrated ligands, proteins leverage amino acid residues similar water affinities as the substrate, minimizing energy required strip molecules from hydrophilic substrates. In synthetic receptor design, replicating this sophisticated adaptability remains a challenge, most artificial receptors are optimized desolvated substances. Here, we show that proline-based can mimic conformational dynamics of achieve selective and amphiphilic fluoride substances in aqueous environments. This finding highlights critical role flexibility strategic hydrophilicity enhancing ligand affinity water. Moreover, it establishes new framework for designing versatile tunable hydrophobicity profiles.

Herein, we present 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) as an efficient solvent for synthesizing resorcin[ n ]arenes in the presence of catalytic amounts HCl at ambient temperature and within minutes. Remarkably, resorcinols with electron-withdrawing groups halogens, which are reported literature most challenging precursors this cyclization, tolerated. This method leads to a variety 2-substituted single synthetic step isolated yields up 98%.
