Abstract Young people in out of home care (OoHC) typically have worse mental health outcomes than peers who grow up within a family origin. Objective: Foster family care is associated with adverse short- and long-term consequences for the child. A systematic review was conducted on interventions foster children careers. Method: comprehensive search process used to find eligible evaluated in randomized controlled trials or quasi-experimental studies. The quality of studies assessed GRADE, effects were synthesized using meta-analytic methods. Results: In all, 28 publications 18 interventions, including 5,357 children, identified. Only three specific had sufficient confidence evidence. No study examined tools parent selection nor preservice programs related outcomes. Discussion: These analyses provide new insights hope into field care. overall results indicate that it possible improve eight outcomes but cannot point out which are superior. Ethically, social organizations should systematically collect knowledge about side effects.

Parental discipline strategies are a necessary and critical aspect of positive child development. Their qualities confer risk versus protection for the development mental health problems. Time-out from reinforcement is now one most common well-researched procedures across world, with overwhelming evidence to support its efficacy acceptability. It has also recently attracted considerable criticism writers evoking well-being considerations based on attachment theory. To determine the efficacy of intervention programs for young children (4-9 years) with emerging mental health needs, we conducted a review meta-analytic and systematic reviews literature. Of 41,061 abstracts identified 15,076 screened, 152 articles met inclusion criteria. We reviewed interventions across multiple disciplines targeting: (1) general concerns; (2) internalizing symptoms; (3) externalizing (4) anxiety; (5) depression; (6) trauma; (7) symptoms attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder; (8) concerns associated autism spectrum disorder. Substantial evidence was found behavioral cognitive concerns, (generally, as well ADHD, conduct, other symptoms) anxiety) aged 4-9 years. The mental health and wellbeing of children young people who have been in care, primarily foster kinship care or residential remains a public priority. Care-experienced cHildren people’s Interventions to improve Mental wEll-being outcomes Systematic review (CHIMES) synthesized evidence for the effectiveness interventions targeting: subjective wellbeing; mental, behavioral neurodevelopmental disorders; suicide-related outcomes. Searches were conducted 16 bibliographic databases 22 websites between 1990 2022. This was supplemented by citation tracking, screening relevant systematic reviews, expert recommendation. We identified 35 interventions, with 44 evaluations via randomized controlled trials. Through meta-analyses, we found that small beneficial impact on variety short term (0–6 months). improved total social, emotional, problems ( d = −0.15, 95% CI [−0.28, −0.02]), social-emotional functioning difficulties −0.18, [−0.31, −0.05]), externalizing problem behaviors −0.30, [−0.53, −0.08]), internalizing −0.35, [−0.61, −0.08]); depression anxiety −0.26, [−0.40, −0.13]). did not demonstrate any assessed longer (>6 Certainty limited risk bias imprecision.
