Abstract Plastics have become an integral component in agricultural production as mulch films, nets, storage bins and many other applications, but their widespread use has led to the accumulation of large quantities soils. Rational reduction, collection, reuse, innovative recycling are key measures curb plastic pollution from agriculture. that cannot be collected after must biodegradable environmentally benign manner. Harmful additives replaced with safer alternatives reduce toxicity burdens included ongoing negotiations surrounding United Nations Treaty. Although full substitution plastics is currently not possible without increasing overall environmental footprint jeopardizing food security, smaller impacts should used endorsed within a clear socio-economic framework. The accumulation of plastic wastes is one the most widely spread problems affecting environment. reality that plastics can be made from renewable resources and degrade naturally has prompted academics to think outside box develop “better for environment” items. In this paper, a bibliometric analysis scholarly publications related bio-based within last 20 years presented. Annual progression, geographic research area distribution, keyword co-occurrence were all examined. Six distinct clusters emerged analysis, which further categorized into three directions: production marketing; impact on environment, economy, society; end-of-life (EoL) options. major focus was how counter weaknesses challenges take opportunities using inherent advantages plastics. Comprehensive studies regarding economy social sustainability are still deficient. Although there many promising innovations in area, them at stage. benefits better EoL options enjoyed only after increased production.

Nowadays, rapidly increasing production, use and disposable of plastic products has become one the utmost environmental issues. Our current circumstances in which food supply chain is demonstrated as containing particles other plastic-based impurities, represents a significant health risk to humans, animals, alike. According this point view, biodegradable material aims produce more sustainable greener world with lower ecological impact. Bioplastics are being investigated an environmentally friendly candidate address problem hence global bioplastic production seen growth expansion recent years. Abstract Worldwide, current mussel and seaweed aquaculture practices contribute to the increase of fossil fuel‐based plastic gears at sea, leading marine litter microplastics generation. Smart has a great potential for shifting towards use lower impact bio‐based biodegradable gears. This review defines value chain biogears as more sustainable aquaculture, sustainability issues covering technology, environmental impacts, economy‐market, policy, social drivers their implementation.
