Plant diseases and insect pest damage cause tremendous losses in forestry fruit tree production. Even though chemical pesticides have been effective the control of plant pests for several decades, they are increasingly becoming undesirable due to their toxic residues that affect human life, animals, environment, as well growing challenge pesticide resistance. In this study, we review potential hydrolytic enzymes from Bacillus species such chitinases, β-1,3-glucanases, proteases, lipases, amylases, cellulases biological phytopathogens pests, which could be a more sustainable alternative pesticides. This study highlights application different sp. biocontrol alternatives against phytopathogens/insect through degradation cell wall/insect cuticles, mainly composed structural polysaccharides like chitins, β-glucans, glycoproteins, lipids. demonstrates prospects applying biopesticides forest production, mode biocidal activity dual antimicrobial/insecticidal potential, indicates great prospect simultaneous pests/diseases. Further research should focus on optimizing production enzymes, synergism facilitate

Abstract Biorational insecticides are composed of natural products, including animals, plants, microbes, and minerals, or their derivates. The use biorational products for the management insect pests has grown intensively in recent years, which increased popularity share on insecticide global market. Much these increases been derived from generalized perception that conventional have undesirable ecological human health impacts. However, idea simply replacing synthetic compounds with without considering potential unintended effects can mislead reduce market life such pest tools. A systematic literature survey encompassing over 15 000 scientific manuscripts published between 1945 2019 reinforces bias focusing studying targeted while overlooking detrimental environment (e.g. death negative sublethal pollinators beneficial arthropods as parasitoids predators). Thus, risks associated control failures, evolution resistance, shift dominance, outbreaks secondary primary pests) need to be revisited outcomes inquiry could decisive future programs. shortcomings regulatory processes, knowledge gaps, outlook discussed. © 2020 Society Chemical Industry

Both inhibitory and stimulatory (known as hormesis) effects of the sublethal flupyradifurone, a butenolide insecticide, on Myzus persicae Sulzer (Hemiptera: Aphididae) were investigated for incorporating it into integrated pest management (IPM). A leaf-dip bioassay showed that flupyradifurone was very toxic against adult M. with 48 h LC50 8.491 mg/L. Using age-stage two-sex life table approach, we assessed LC25 its progeny (F1 F2). On one hand, aphids exposed to had significantly negative history traits acrossing generations, such reduced longevity fecundity F0, shortened duration third instar fourth nymphs, preadult period pre-reproductive F1, decreased reproductive days F2. other pre-adult, days, reproduction F1 observed in flupyradifurone-treated aphids. Consistently stimulation individual traits, higher net rate (R0) shorter mean generation time (T) F2 aphids, although population parameters including intrinsic increase (r), finite (λ) T R0, r λ not affected. These results revealed concentration can induce hormetic also cause Our would be useful assessing overall should take consideration when use control persicae.

Abstract Insecticide resistance across sub-Saharan Africa may impact the continued effectiveness of malaria vector control. We investigated association between carbamate and pyrethroid with Anopheles gambiae s.l. parity, Plasmodium falciparum infection, molecular insecticide mechanisms in Guinea. Pyrethroid was intense, field populations surviving ten times insecticidal concentration required to kill susceptible individuals. The L1014F kdr -N1575Y haplotype I1527T mutation were significantly associated mosquito survival following permethrin exposure (Prevalence Ratio; PR = 1.92, CI 1.09–3.37 2.80, 1.03–7.64, respectively). Partial restoration susceptibility synergist pre-exposure suggests a role for mixed-function oxidases. Carbamate lower G119S Ace-1 mutation. Oocyst rates 6.8% 4.2% among resistant mosquitoes, respectively; survivors bendiocarb more likely be infected. mosquitoes had parity than their counterparts (PR 1.15, 1.10–1.21). Our findings emphasize need additional studies directly assessing influence on fitness.
