Student service members/veterans (SSM/V) are distinct from non-veteran students in a variety of ways, including their cannabis use patterns and potentially motives for use. Additionally, previous research has shown that men women endorse different The present study was designed to assess whether popular measure is invariant across veteran status gender identity. Based on research, we hypothesized would show invariance SSM/V men, women, (n = 1,011, 553) among those who indicated using at least once lifetime. Results the four-group testing procedure revealed metric invariance. This suggests while factor structure loadings invariant, there differences intercept level groups. same items load onto latent constructs strength loading factors also demonstrated implications clients. As this scale brief, it could easily be used as screening tool or guide intervention content.

The increasing prevalence and burden of suicide have led to numerous studies identify its risk factors. Cannabis is the most common illicit substance detected in victims’ toxicology tests. This study aims appraise systematic reviews investigating suicidality after using cannabis cannabinoids. Seven databases two registries were searched without restrictions for effects on suicidality. AMSTAR-2 was used quality assessment corrected covered area citation matrix determine overlap. Twenty-five included, which 24 recreational use one therapeutic use. Only three reported no effect or inconsistent results. Evidence generally showed a positive association between suicidal ideation attempt among general population, military veterans, bipolar major depression patients. A bidirectional causal also mentioned. Moreover, younger age initiation, long-term use, heavy consumption be associated with even worse outcomes. On contrary, current evidence indicates that safe. In conclusion, literature supports cannabis-suicidality but considers cannabidiol safe treatment. Further quantitative interventional approaches are recommended.

Military populations have higher prevalence rates of alcohol consumption and engage in heavier drinking compared to the general population. Alcohol Use Disorders (AUD) is a serious negative consequence often affecting military personnel. The objective this study was determine risk factors AUDs among male personnel Sri Lanka Army. This case control study. data were derived from larger cross-sectional conducted army active service (n = 1337) deployed battalions Lanka. Cases scored 16 or Identification Test (AUDIT) clinically confirmed by Consultant Psychiatrist 90). Controls 0 for AUDIT 180). Exposure collected self-administered questionnaire. Bivariate logistic regression analysis which controlled confounding. When confounding ever smoker (AOR 3.14, 95% CI 1.35–7.27), current cannabis user 12.29, 4.86–31.08), mental distress 8.20, 3.37–19.93), sleep disturbances 3.17, 1.03–9.72) sex with commercial worker 4.06, 1.31–12.52) had AUD. Army medical staff should focus on during clinical assessments. Health promotion efforts AUD prevention need be integrated initiatives addressing smoking, use, high-risk sexual behaviours, well-being, quality sleep.

We surveyed 121 who were enrolled in Illinois Medical Cannabis Patient Program during Fall 2020. then used maximum variation sampling select subset 32 partake phone interview. Two researchers conducted and qualitatively coded 30-minute audiotaped semi-structured interviews. Interview topics included (1) opioids, benzodiazepines; (2) interactions with providers; (3) regarding use; (4) educational materials. share from stigma. identified three themes: stereotypes people media portrayal users, hesitation disclosing use. Stigma creates situations which may hesitant disclose their physicians friends/family, dangerous socially isolating. Additional is needed expand upon our more generalizable methods.

Suicide is prevalent among young adults, and epidemiological studies indicate that insomnia, nightmares, depression are significantly associated with a high incidence of suicidal ideation (SI). However, the causal relationship between these factors SI remains unclear. Therefore, purpose this study was to examine association nightmares insomnia in as well develop mediation model investigate nightmare, depression, SI. We assessed 546 adults using Insomnia Severity Scale (ISI), Disturbing Dream Nightmare (DDNSI), Depression Study (CESD-20), Columbia-Suicide Rating (C-SSRS). Using Bootstrap method, effects were calculated. The results demonstrated fully mediated SI, including chain-mediation nightmare an effect value 0.02, 95% CI 0.01-0.04, mediator 0.22, 0.15-0.29. This found may be risk predictive which implies assessment treatment simple or linked play crucial roles preventing adults.
