Background: Organophosphate flame retardants (OPFRs) are compounds with a wide range of industrial and commercial applications mainly used as plasticizers. The global consumption OPFRs has risen rapidly in recent decades, they have been widely detected environmental media. Unfortunately, associated many adverse health outcomes. issue the risks is attracting increasing attention. Therefore, there need to review current state research trends this field help researchers policymakers quickly understand field, identify new directions, allocate appropriate resources for further development OPFR risk field. Methods: This study statistically analyzed 1162 relevant publications included Web Science Core Collection from 2003–2023. internal external features literature, such publication trends, countries, authors, journals, keywords, were quantitatively visually presented hotspots, compositions, paradigms horizontally vertically analyze structural evolution Results: can be divided into three stages, entered period rapid 2016. China (649 papers) most prolific country, followed by United States (188 papers). authors STAPLETON HM WANG Y highest combined impact. International collaboration between countries still needs strengthened. Total Environment frequently published journal (162 papers), Environmental Technology cited (5285 citations). Endocrine disruption, developmental toxicity, neurotoxicity effects greatest interest. Conclusions: Future expected multidisciplinary, hotspots may involve comprehensive assessment exposure population, exploration mechanisms endocrine-disrupting vivo metabolic processes, examination metabolites.

Human exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) has gained worldwide attention due their widespread presence in the environment adverse health effects, but assessment elderly is still lacking. This study aimed assess exposures 3 emerging PFASs (chlorinated ether sulfonic acids, Cl-PFESAs) 15 legacy PFASs. The temporal variability of internal intake amounts these were evaluated among a population 76 healthy adults (age: 60-69) Jinan, China over 5 consecutive months. Fifteen detected whole blood with mean total concentration (ΣPFAS) at 20.1 ng/mL (range: 5.0-135.9 ng/mL) dominated by perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) (9.0 ng/mL), perfluorooctanesulfonic (PFOS) (5.3 6:2 Cl-PFESA (1.6 ng/mL). Across month period, significant variation was only observed for short-chain (C4-C7) perfluoroalkyl carboxylic variations ranged from 53 334%. median PFOA PFOS estimated be 1.46 0.92 ng/kg bw/day, respectively. Regression analysis showed that dietary ingestion, especially fish, likely an important pathway adults. Various pathways (e.g., dietary, water, air, dust) should thus considered fully understand human

Household air pollution has been identified as a global threat in recent decades. The partial combustion of solid fuel is leading reason for indoor middle- and low-income countries estimated to cause around 3.5 million death per year globally. Women become the most vulnerable these household due their exceptional physical possessions higher exposure duration. current study aims identify possible conditions women. starts with questionnaire survey assess health-related issues distinguishing women further sampling pollutants kitchen area different homes (n=10) bifurcated on basis nature family. Further, concentration obtained was utilized health risk assessment using ICRP MPPD modelling techniques. trend observed shows particulate matter joint family kitchens. Abstract Organophosphate esters (OPEs) are used primarily as flame retardants and plasticizers. Previously, we reported that adrenal cells important targets of individual OPEs. However, real-life exposures to complex mixtures these chemicals. To address this, exposed H295R human varying dilutions (1/1000K 1/3K) a Canadian household dust–based OPE mixture for 48 hours evaluated effects on phenotypic, lipidomic, functional parameters. Using high-content screening approach, assessed phenotypic markers at concentrations which there was greater than 70% cell survival; the most striking effect 2.5-fold increase in total area lipid droplets. We then determined response specific species with novel, nontargeted lipidomic analysis isolated These data revealed house dust OPEs induced concentration-dependent alterations composition droplets, particularly affecting triglyceride, diglyceride, phosphatidylcholine, cholesterol ester subclasses. The steroid-producing function presence or absence steroidogenic stimulus, forskolin, determined. While production 17β-estradiol remained unaffected, slight decrease testosterone observed after stimulation. Conversely, 2-fold both basal stimulated cortisol aldosterone observed. Thus, exposure exerts endocrine-disrupting cells, highlighting importance assessing environmentally relevant mixtures.
