Human exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) has gained worldwide attention due their widespread presence in the environment adverse health effects, but assessment elderly is still lacking. This study aimed assess exposures 3 emerging PFASs (chlorinated ether sulfonic acids, Cl-PFESAs) 15 legacy PFASs. The temporal variability of internal intake amounts these were evaluated among a population 76 healthy adults (age: 60-69) Jinan, China over 5 consecutive months. Fifteen detected whole blood with mean total concentration (ΣPFAS) at 20.1 ng/mL (range: 5.0-135.9 ng/mL) dominated by perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) (9.0 ng/mL), perfluorooctanesulfonic (PFOS) (5.3 6:2 Cl-PFESA (1.6 ng/mL). Across month period, significant variation was only observed for short-chain (C4-C7) perfluoroalkyl carboxylic variations ranged from 53 334%. median PFOA PFOS estimated be 1.46 0.92 ng/kg bw/day, respectively. Regression analysis showed that dietary ingestion, especially fish, likely an important pathway adults. Various pathways (e.g., dietary, water, air, dust) should thus considered fully understand human

Epidemiological evidence of the effects PM2.5 elements on lung function and DNA methylation is limited. Household air pollution has been identified as a global threat in recent decades. The partial combustion of solid fuel is leading reason for indoor middle- and low-income countries estimated to cause around 3.5 million death per year globally. Women become the most vulnerable these household due their exceptional physical possessions higher exposure duration. current study aims identify possible conditions women. starts with questionnaire survey assess health-related issues distinguishing women further sampling pollutants kitchen area different homes (n=10) bifurcated on basis nature family. Further, concentration obtained was utilized health risk assessment using ICRP MPPD modelling techniques. trend observed shows particulate matter joint family kitchens. Exposure to organophosphate esters (OPEs) remains a significant concern, especially in aquatic systems where these compounds can bioaccumulate organisms. However, limited information exists regarding their potential health risks humans through the food web tropical ecosystems. This study investigated levels, bioaccumulation, and trophic transfer of OPEs sediments marine fish species from Cartagena Barbacoas bays, Colombia. Twenty target were quantified fish. The average concentrations ∑18OPEs ranged 2.80 115 ng/g dry weight (dw), while ∑20OPE 212 1968 lipid (lw), with highest found carnivorous species. Trophic magnification factors (TMF) for varied 11.0 25.8 such as 2-ethylhexyl diphenyl phosphate (EHDPP), 4-isopropylphenyl (4IPPDPP), tris(2-isopropylphenyl) (T2IPPP), tricresylphosphate (TCP), indicating biomagnification within web. Biota-sediment accumulation (BSAF) ∑11OPEs 0.340 4.32, showing Spearman correlation log Kow fish: Pargo chino (r = -0.78, p < 0.05), Mojarra blanca 0.79, Lisa 0.72, 0.05). suggests that bioaccumulation certain increase lipophilicity compounds. Despite findings, human risk OPE exposure via consumption was be minimal.
