Abstract Background Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) represents a critical global health threat, necessitating the identification of factors that contribute to its emergence and proliferation. We used "One Health" perspective evaluate association human veterinary antibiotic usage, environmental factors, socio-economic care with clinical AMR in China. Methods analyzed data from 31 provincial-level administrative divisions China, encompassing 20,762,383 bacterial isolates sourced China Resistance Surveillance System dataset between 2014 2022. A $$\beta$$ β regression model was explore relationship multiple variables. also estimated contribution associated AMR, evaluated avoidable risk under six different measures during 2019 according available guidelines. Results had positive associations particulate matter smaller than 2.5 µm (PM ) level, population density, gross domestic product per capita, length hospital stay, 1 unit increase level above independent variables were percentage change aggregate 1.8% (95% CI : 1.1, 2.5), 2.0% 0.6, 3.4), 0.9% 0.4, 1.4), 0.02% 0.01, 0.03), 0.5% 0.1, 0.8), 8.0% 1.2, 15.3), respectively. negative city water popularity, greenery area expenditure −4.2% −6.4, −1.9), −0.4% −0.8, −0.07), −0.02% −0.04, −0.01), PM might be major influencing factor accounting for 13.7% variation AMR. During 2019, there 5.1% could attributed , corresponding 25.7 thousand premature deaths, 691.8 years life lost, 63.9 billion Chinese yuan whole country. Human usage halved, popularity improved, comprehensive decrease nationwide by 8.5, 0.5, 1.3, 4.4, 17.2%, Conclusions The study highlights complex multi-dimensional nature finds as possible factor. Despite improvements decreasing future initiatives should consider integrated strategies control other simultaneously Graphical

Edwardsiella piscicida causes significant economic losses to the aquaculture industry worldwide. Phage-based biocontrol methods are experiencing a renaissance because of spread drug-resistant genes and bacteria resulting from heavy use antibiotics. Here, we showed that novel phage EPP-1 could achieve comparable efficacy florfenicol using zebrafish model infection reduce content floR resistance gene in excreta. Specifically, inhibited bacterial growth vitro significantly improved survival rate vivo (P = 0.0035), achieving an 0.2304). Notably, integrating results 16S rRNA sequencing, metagenomic qPCR, although effects converged with those terms community composition potential function gut microbiota, it reduced excreta water. Overall, our study highlights feasibility safety therapy for edwardsiellosis control, which has profound implications development antibiotic alternatives address crisis.

The threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is on the rise globally, especially with development animal husbandry and increased demand for antibiotics. Livestock poultry farms, as key sites prevalence antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB), can spread genes (ARGs) through microbial aerosols affect public health. In this study, total suspended particulate matter (TSP) airborne culturable microorganisms were collected from duck houses in Tai'an, Shandong Province, bacterial communities ARGs analyzed using metagenomics PCR methods. results showed that air mainly Actinobacteria, Firmicutes, Proteobactria, Chlamydia Bcateroidetes at phylum level. At genus level, was dominated by Corynebacterium, Jeotgalicoccus, Staphylococcus, Brevibacterium Megacoccus, contained some pathogenic such Staphylococcus aureus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Klebsiella oxytoca, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which also potential hosts ARGs. macrolides (10.97%), penicillins (10.73%), cephalosporins (8.91%), streptozotocin aminoglycosides (8.02%). detected 27 microorganisms, comparative analysis between metagenomic data revealed a nine found to same, including ErmA, ErmF, tetracyclines tetG, tetX, methicarbamazepines dfrA12, dfrA15, APH3-VI, ANT2-Ⅰ, sulphonamides sul2. Moreover, inhalation exposure modeling workers inhaled higher concentrations ARB, human (HPB) (HPARB) than hospital workers. These provide new insights into farms lay foundation further study.

Adverse health effects have been linked with exposure to livestock farms, likely due airborne microbial agents. Accurate assessment is crucial in epidemiological studies, however limited studies modelled bioaerosols. This study used measured concentrations air of commensals (Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus species (spp.)), antimicrobial resistance genes (tetW mecA) at 61 residential sites a livestock-dense region the Netherlands. For each agent, land use regression (LUR) random forest (RF) models were developed using Geographic Information System (GIS)-derived livestock-related characteristics as predictors. Bacterial resistance to antibiotics is now an extremely important safety and health issue. Much of the research on this phenomenon focuses its clinical aspects, while current findings confirm that it only one a number potential sources bacteria genes responsible for drug resistance. There are many indications main contributors issue currently agriculture applies virtually worldwide. Increased awareness issues rational use in husbandry practice entails increased interest phenomena related spread antibiotic environment, their specifics, scale existing threat. This work, based research, analyzed selected aspects animal production, presence antibiotic-resistant microorganisms farm animals waste from agricultural particular breeding farms, determinants farming practices threats emissions factors including possibility transfer resistant humans.

Active antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB) play a major role in spreading antimicrobial resistance (AMR) the environment; however, they have remained largely unexplored. Herein, we coupled bio-orthogonal noncanonical amino acid tagging with high-throughput fluorescence-activated single-cell sorting (FACS) and sequencing to characterize phenome genome of active ARB complex environmental matrices. ARB, conferring six antibiotics throughout wastewater treatment, were distinguished quantified. The percentage concentration ranged from 0.28% 45.3% 1.1 × 10
