Insects host microbes and interact with them throughout their life cycle. This microbiota is an important, if not essential, partner participating in many aspects of insect physiology. Recent omics studies have contributed to considerable advances the current understanding molecular implications during development. In this review, we present overview knowledge about mechanisms underlying interactions between developing insects microbial companions. The implicated nutrition, both via compensating for metabolic pathways lacking regulating metabolism. Furthermore, plays a protective role, enhancing insect's tolerance to, or resistance against, various environmental stresses.

With increases in global population and urbanization, the production of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is growing rapidly, thus contributing to social environmental concerns for sustainable waste management. This study addresses research gap optimizing composting, hypothesizing that integrating best practices recent innovations can enhance efficiency process. Data were collected through a systematic review existing literature using Google Scholar Scopus databases. The provides an overview municipal organic outlining its processes, benefits, challenges with aim identifying key area further improvement possibilities adopting technological innovations. analysis emphasized advances as microbial inoculants or in-vessel composting have greatly improved quality resulting compost. However, several remain, including managing contaminants such heavy metals microplastics, ensuring compost safety addressing socioeconomic barriers prevent widespread adoption. Moreover, process optimization, economic evaluation, well political public involvement are essential unlock whole potential systems.

One third of the food produced for human consumption is currently lost or wasted. Insects have a high potential converting organic waste- and by-products into feed growing population due to symbiosis with microorganisms. These symbioses provide an untapped reservoir functional microbiomes that can be used improve industrial insect production but are poorly studied in most species. Here we review current understanding challenges valorizing through insects their feed, emerging novel technologies investigate manipulate host(insects)-microbiome interactions. We further construct holistic framework, by integration including holo-omics, genome editing, breeding, phage therapy, administration prebiotics probiotics interactions, solutions achieving stakeholder acceptance sustainable production.

Bioconversion using insects is a promising strategy to convert organic waste (catering leftovers, harvest waste, food processing byproducts, etc.) into biomass that can be used for multiple applications, turned high added-value products, and address environmental, societal economic concerns. Due its ability feed on tremendous variety of wastes, the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) has recently emerged as insect bioconversion wastes an industrial scale. A growing number studies have highlighted pivotal role gut microbiota in performance health this species. This review aims provide critical overview current knowledge regarding functional diversity H. illucens, highlighting importance bioconversion, safety development new biotechnological tools. After providing different strategies been outline microbial communities we discuss these microbes beneficial services they their host. Emphasis placed technical aspects host biology require special attention near future research. We also argue singular digestive capabilities complex illucens make species valuable model addressing fundamental questions interactions evolved with microorganisms. By proposing avenues research, stimulate research challenges but bacterial symbiosis insects.

The ever-growing human population has forced people to intensify agriculture meet the demand for food and feed. However, increase in global agricultural production also means an waste generation, which is mostly improperly managed, especially low- middle-income countries where adequate management infrastructure limited inefficient. Consequently, organic become a burden due its negative impact on environment health. In this sense, insect-based bioconversion could be economically viable, environmentally friendly, technically feasible approach management. Based review, wastes from agriculture, industry, household, municipalities, starch industry are considered as suitable substrates bioconverter insects. Commonly used insects include cricket, yellow mealworm, superworm, black soldier fly, house flesh fly blow fly. Rearing facilities must adapted provide optimal environmental conditions growth development of reared insect maximize rate efficiency. This paper aimed to investigate the Asian's willingness use black soldier fly larvae for organic waste management and livestock feed. A random sampling method was adopted based on generation substrate availability. In addition, it contributes filling gaps in research into public acceptance, social perception, Attitude toward BSFL-based management. It has been found that different subgroups countries have inconsistent attitudes using BSFL technology. Stack group Afghanistan (3.94 ± 0.90), Pakistan (4.45 0.61), China (4.48 0.54) highly agree, Bangladesh (3.21 0.57) but other groups are not sure or show perceptions. The results of our study indicate is a more acceptable feed supplement than conventional food; participants rated their blend 500 grams with preferred livestock, dogs, fish, birds, cats. established most respondents were familiar technology, namely (3.58 0.87), (3.55 0.8), (3.24 0.82), (2.63 0.5). mean value from (2.87 0.76), (2.74 1.41), (2.76 1.12), (2.78 1.28).
