This article addresses one of the contemporary economy’s most challenging endeavors: energy transition. Specifically, aim study was to assess effectiveness Poland’s transition process between 2004 and 2021. A comprehensive approach is employed analyze process, focusing on implementation through Energy Transition Effectiveness Index. methodology incorporates four dimensions, namely security, economic considerations, climate impact, social aspects, each characterized by 22 sub-indices. The research employs a two-tiered based multi-criteria decision making methodology. EDAS method utilized determine indices’ values, while CRITIC, equal weights, statistical variance methods Laplace’s criterion are ascertain sub-indices values dimension particularly useful for under uncertainty. Moreover, relationship these indices, Index, Gross Domestic Product explored. By evaluating from 2021 comparing results with other European Union countries, it becomes evident that varies over time. Despite encountering challenges during sector’s transformation, Poland exhibits positive progress in its efforts, outperforming certain counterparts. However, there pressing need intensify efforts curtail emissions enhance renewable utilization. Union’s support coordination deemed crucial facilitating endeavors, alongside fostering wider adoption best practices among member states. developed stands as valuable tool ongoing evaluation transformation processes across nations.

Studying the trends of countries in past has a significant impact on developing their future roadmaps and efficient policies energy sector. This paper examines performance BRICS G7 field environment. In this regard, 3 indicators related to energy, i.e., intensity, import use renewable resources, environment, greenhouse gas emissions, CO2 emissions intensity were selected. Using an optimization model based Holt-Winters, values these obtained for studied 2040 horizon. Finally, by using KEMIRA method, base forecast year was evaluated. The findings reveal that projected year, excelled with higher emphasis ranking, whereas developed economies showed better greater contribution ordering. Recommendations mature include prioritizing environmental taxes, investing clean technologies, embracing circular economy, securing critical mineral supply chains. For nations, balanced transition is advised, leveraging natural as transitional fuel, financing renewables, advancing carbon capture, electric vehicles, hydrogen technologies. Although various dynamic influence countries' policy-making process performance, research provides general perspective key players global economy.

Abstract Background Nature-based solutions (NBS) in urban areas offer an opportunity to improve environmental conditions and reduce CO 2 emissions towards establishing climate-neutral cities the next few decades. Furthermore, implementation of NBSs—vertical or horizontal green infrastructures on public facilities—could particular both climate, including outdoor thermal a micro-scale (especially during summer season) energy demand buildings as well save heating winter period. Results On selected buildings, extensive roofs were implemented NBS intervention. The analysed data obtained using monitoring systems (from 2019 2022) installed two Novi Sad (Republic Serbia) Osijek Croatia), with focus climate/bioclimate characteristics transmission capacities. Four automatic weather stations (AWS) used for microclimate monitoring, along heat flow meter (HFM) method, measure alterations transmittance ( U value) flat concrete roof before after refurbishment installation roof. outcomes this study show that air temperatures Ta ) globe Tg near are lower by 0–3 °C 0–16.5 than values captured AWSs at other locations. An even more interesting fact is has constant cooling potential tropical nights, based upon research, value around (the not distinct). results savings can be achieved applying 8 cm thick substrate: decreased 50–69%, measured different flux sensors. Conclusions solutions, such roof, have positive effects diverse aspects environments building savings, which particularly evident extreme seasons, winter. Applying proposed assessment system could help local communities their efforts carbon-based emissions. This paper provides good example NBSs local- micro-scale.
