The notion of sustainability has gained increasing popularity in smart city research. While numerous studies have focused on how initiatives either undermine or contribute to sustainability, a few essential questions remain unanswered. First, vast body knowledge been accumulated the results cities, particularly their short-term outputs. However, it is not clear those can be sustained over time. Second, most existing literature touches environmental and economic whereas other perspectives, such as social cultural are still underexplored. Given these gaps, this study seeks by answering following research questions: (1) To what extent addressed previous studies? (2) scholars different dimensions sustainability? A narrative review was conducted. Our findings indicate that cities understood two ways—the duration multi-dimensional long-term goals.
