Urban cemeteries are increasingly surrounded by areas of high residential density as urbanization continues world-wide. With increasing rates mortality caused the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, urban vertical experiencing interments at an unprecedented rate. Corpses interred in 3rd to 5th layer have potential contaminate large adjacent regions. The general objective this manuscript is analyze reflectance altimetry, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and land surface temperature (LST) neighbouring City Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It assumed that population residing vicinity these may be exposed SARS-CoV-2 contamination through displacement microparticles carried wind a corpse placed burial niche or during first several days subsequent fluid gas release process decomposition. analyses were performed utilizing Landsat 8 satellite images applied NDVI LST, for hypothetical examination possible displacement, transport deposition virus. results showed two within city, A B could potentially nanometric structure neighboring action. These located relative altitudes more densely populated regions city. NDVI, which has been shown control proliferation contaminants, proved insufficient areas, contributing LST values. Based on study, formation implementation public policies monitor suggested utilize order reduce further spread

In June 2020, we published a review focused on assessing the influence of various air pollutants transmission SARS-CoV-2, and severity COVID-19 in patients infected by coronavirus. The results most those reviewed studies suggested that chronic exposure to certain might lead more severe lethal forms COVID-19, as well delays/complications recovery patients. Since then, notable number this topic have been published, including also reviews. Given importance issue, updated information since our previous review. Taking together investigations now reviewed, concluded there is significant association between outdoor pollutants: PM

Wastewater surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 RNA has been a successful indicator of COVID-19 outbreaks in populations prior to clinical testing. However, this mostly conducted high-income countries, which means there is dearth performance investigations low- and middle-income countries with different socio-economic settings. This study evaluated the applicability monitoring wastewater (n = 132) inform infection city Bangkok, Thailand using CDC N1 N2 RT-qPCR assays. influents 112) effluents 20) were collected from 19 centralized treatment plants (WWTPs) comprising four large, medium, 11 small WWTPs during seven sampling events January April 2021 third resurgence that was officially declared 2021. The assay showed higher detection rates lower Ct values than N2. first detected at event when new reported cases low. Increased positive preceded an increase number newly increased over time incidence. (both viral loads) strongest correlation daily 22-24 days lag (Spearman's Rho 0.85-1.00). Large (serving 432,000-580,000 population) exhibited similar trends loads those all WWTPs, emphasizing routine large could provide sufficient information city-scale dynamics. Higher frequency fewer sites, i.e., representative therefore suggested especially subsiding period outbreak indicate prevalence infection, acting as early warning resurgence.

The emergence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has catalyzed great interest in the spread airborne pathogens. Airborne infectious diseases are classified into viral, bacterial, and fungal infections. Environmental factors can elevate their transmission lethality. Air pollution been reported as leading environmental cause premature death worldwide. Notably, ambient particulates various components sizes harmful pollutants. There two prominent health effects particles atmosphere: (1) particulate matter (PM) penetrates respiratory tract adversely affects health, such heart diseases; (2) bioaerosols act a medium for pathogens air. Particulates contribute to occurrence by increasing vulnerability infection through inhalation spreading interactions with Here, we focus on synergistic disease. We outline concepts characteristics bioaerosols, from generation transformation circulation Earth. Considering that microorganisms coexist other investigate studies examining infections associated PM. Furthermore, discuss four (meteorological, biological, physical, chemical) may impact influence PM survival contagious atmosphere. Our review highlights significant role supporting aerosols emphasizes need further research this area.

The higher concentration of PM10 and PM2.5 in the lower atmosphere is severely harmful for human health it also makes visibility diminution along with weather climate modifications. main objective to find out spatiotemporal variation dispersal COVID-19 infection dusty city Kolkata. consecutive two years data different stations have been obtained from State Pollution Control Board, Govt. West Bengal. Forward trajectory analysis has done through HYSPLIT (Hybrid Single Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory) model path direction air particles. result showed that various meteorological or environmental factors (such as temperature, relative humidity, wind, wind speed, pressure gusty wind) geographical location regulate PM2.5. These like high temperature humidity strong influence disperse particulate matters north south outside during summer Kolkata metropolitan city. During (both pre lockdown years), height particles extended up 1000 m owing active atmospheric ventilation whereas winter confined within 100 m. clearly specified dispersed south, south-west east due wind. constant magnification leads greater frequency infections deaths. In Kolkata, one crucial reasons deaths (COVID-19) co-morbidity people.
