Biodiversity underpins the functioning of ecosystems and diverse benefits that nature provides to people, yet is being lost at an unprecedented rate. To halt or reverse biodiversity loss, it critical understand complex interdependencies between key drivers sectors inform development holistic policies action. We conducted a literature review on interlinkages climate change, food, water, energy, transport health (“the nexus"). Evidence extracted from 194 peer-reviewed articles was analysed assess how influenced by influencing climate, health. Out 354 evidenced other nexus elements in review, 53% were negative, 29% positive 18% contained both negative influences. Most studies provide evidence influence biodiversity, highlighting substantial damage inflicted human activities. The main types impacts related land water use/change, degradation, direct species fatalities through collisions with infrastructure, change. Alternatively, having mainly limited effects invasive alien vector-borne disease. Furthermore, range provided co-benefits could be achieved elements, such as agroecological practices, green blue nature-based solutions, ecosystem restoration sustainable diets. highlighted complexity context-dependency within nexus, but clearly demonstrates importance underpinning well-being ensuring future for people planet.

Current food production systems rely heavily on resource-poor small-scale farmers in the global south. Concomitantly, agrifood are exacerbated by various a/biotic challenges, including low-input agriculture and climate crisis. The recent crisis further escalates consumption challenges market. With these coordinated efforts to address world’s have never been more urgent than now. This includes implementation of deeply interconnected activities food, land, water relationships among producers consumers that operate across political boundaries. Nature-positive represents interventions both at farm landscape level include a approach for management diverse issues land-water-food nexus. In present article, we focus history traditional farming how it evolved into today’s nature-positive agriculture, its limitations opportunities. review also explains most impactful indicators successful sustainable soil, crops, seeds, pests, mixed systems, forages livestock. Finally, dynamics context multilateral organizations like CGIAR converting this transformative actions impact. Persistent engagement of dairy farmers in informal milk markets poses economic and health challenges while limiting the supply raw to processing plants that heavily rely on smallholder farmers. Consequently, this results a decline domestically processed products, job losses throughout value chain, transition becoming net importers products. Based these challenges, systematic review scholarly articles was conducted find out factors influencing farmers' markets. PRISMA approach employed, where fifteen met inclusion criteria were analysed after thorough screening process. The findings show informalities is more prevalent developing countries, particularly Africa Asia. study revealed four major categories drivers influence markets, namely market factors, production farmers-related support service-related factors. In addition, employed Pareto analysis, related prioritized for interventions enhance reduction 80% formal contributes towards understanding decisions engage which instrumental designing policy actions programs high-value Unlike previous studies, paper extends literature beyond country-specific focusing extent challenge countries.

The increasing pressure on resources and the persistent failure to address global malnutrition are evident challenges. A significant contributing factor is decline in quality of production resources, particularly water. As a result, many countries their experts have prioritized need balance resource consumption. To research gap regarding balanced optimal use, various methodologies been developed over time, culminating nexus studies. This study aimed investigate what, why, how conducting water-energy-food (WEFN) employed sequential mixed-methods approach, integrating content analysis with Analytical Network Process (ANP). findings reveal that objectives WEFN studies encompass wide range interests, which can be systematically categorized into seven principal domains: system sustainability assessment, integration planning decision-making processes related consumption, optimization management consumption systems, development theoretical frameworks for nexus, evaluation impacts assessment associated risks. Notably, results indicate most critical reason Furthermore, identified simulation as effective technique within Hierarchy (AHP) framework. The rapid expansion of solar energy in India poses challenges the context cropland encroachment and water-resource scarcity. To help address these challenges, we used open access satellite observations GIS technologies over Earth Engine platform to devise Solar Panel Index (SPI) for efficient detection farms, achieving a Land use/Land cover classification accuracy 89 %. We have cropland, water availability, power grid land surface temperature data-sets generation suitability map. Sentinel-2 along with SPI were develop farm locations their estimated installed capacity within study area. outcomes from depicted that 40 % all farms country are located on agricultural land, highest seen Karnataka (73.55 %) followed by Tamil Nadu (68.81 %). Furthermore, high coincides low groundwater depths, exacerbating local strain. Madhya Pradesh was found almost no plant 5 km bodies. Our findings emphasize significance solar-agriculture-water (SAW) nexus sustainable development. Using high-resolution Suitability Map (LSM) as decision-making criteria allocating reveals Rajasthan holds potential installation. integrated approach considering interplay between solar-energy production, agriculture, management contributes growth sector regional

Nexus research can help address issues arising at the intersection of traditionally independently treated management, policy, and areas. While an extensive body literature reviews have been published on water, food energy nexus, biodiversity is less commonly featured in water nexus research, particularly India. India hosts a large proportion world's biological diversity. At same time, it facing one highest habitat conversion rates, among others for agricultural production, as well increasing scarcity. Hence, integration considerations into management governance decisions critical Here, we explore linkages food, (FWB) using systematic review peer-reviewed literature. A total 208 were extracted from 55 articles mapped qualitative systems mapping approach. Results show strong interdependence between all three nodes, with exhibiting number across system (137 linkages), followed by (131 linkages) (120 linkages). Our results reflect state-of-the-art food-water highlight importance better understanding tradeoffs India's FWB nexus.
