The emergence of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) at beginning 2020, considered a public health emergency due to its high transmission rate and lack specific treatment, led many countries adhere social isolation. Although necessary, isolation causes important psychological changes, negatively affecting population, including older population. aim this study is propose 4-week, home-based physical exercise protocol for people in evaluate whether will promote positive changes variables such as anxiety, mood, depression, stress, sleep, quality life, capacities adults. sample be selected probabilistic way from individuals aged 60 years or more city Itajaí (Santa Catarina, Brazil). Of these, half perform resistance training protocol, with 3 weekly sessions, 4 consecutive weeks. For group allocation, patients randomized computer-generated 1:1 allocation (PE) control group. Outcomes depressive symptoms, sleep quality, mood states, functional capacity, evaluated baseline, after weeks, 15 days follow-up. Objective In March 2020, several countries banned unnecessary outdoor activities during COVID-19, commonly called ‘lockdowns. These lockdowns have the potential to impact associated levels of physical activity and sedentary behaviour. Given numerous health outcomes with behaviour, aim this review was summarise literature that investigated differences in behaviour before vs COVID-19 lockdown. The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has been devastating in all senses, particularly psychologically. Physical activity (PA) is known to aid psychological well-being, and it worth investigating whether PA a coping strategy during this pandemic. objective of literature review analyze the extent which engaging COVID-19 impacts health adult population. was searched databases from EBSCOhost Research Database—MEDLINE, APA PsycArticles, between others—published 1 January 2019 15 July 2020. From 180 articles found, were eligible. reviewed showed an association mental distress—e.g., stress, anxiety, depressive symptoms, social isolation, distress—and PA. Data Source We searched major databases (PubMed, EMBASE, SPORTDiscus, Web Science) preprint servers (MedRxiv, SportRxiv, ResearchGate, Google Scholar), for relevant papers up 25/07/2020. Study Eligibility Criteria included observational studies cross-sectional longitudinal designs. To qualify inclusion must tested association PA or anxiety, using linear logistic regressions. Abstract Aim To summarise the psychological impacts of social isolation amongst older adults during COVID‐19 and review benefits limitations online interventions used to combat isolation. Design A scoping was performed. The spread of COVID-19 and the associated stay-at-home orders shutdowns gyms fitness centers have drastically influenced health behaviors leading to widespread reductions in physical activity (PA). recent Call Action from American College Sports Medicine has promoted "innovative strategies promote PA during pandemic." We aimed identify individual-level factors that protected against declines levels amid restrictions.We used Pennington Biomedical Health Behaviors Survey for our analyses mixed-effect linear generalized models estimate effects on changes restrictions.Participants (n = 4376) provided information before shutdown.
