Abstract Background Climate change is seriously affecting human survival and development, the anxiety caused by it becoming increasingly prominent. How to alleviate people’s climate anxiety, improve ecological environment, promote formation of green lifestyles among people, especially young an important topic that deserves be explored. This study examined relationship between pro-environmental behaviors underlying psychological mechanism in adolescents. Methods explored crucial role future self-continuity (FSC) (CCA) (PEB) adolescents moderating self-efficacy (GSE). In this study, a total 1,851 middle high school students from five schools were selected for questionnaire survey. The mental health impacts of climate change are increasingly documented; however, less research has investigated the relationship between change-related psychological distress and engagement with issue. results from two national probability samples U.S. adults show that 16% report at least one feature certain groups have higher levels than others (e.g., Hispanic/Latinos, lower income adults, younger adults). Importantly, people experiencing more likely to engage in collective action on or express a willingness do so, even when controlling for several correlates environmental behavior political ideology, efficacy beliefs). These findings highlight many Americans change, those who involved action. People such may benefit resources support change.

The adverse impacts of climate change on mental health is a burgeoning area, although findings are inconsistent. emerging concept eco-anxiety represents distress in relation to and may be related health. aim this study was explore the relationship between with validated outcomes, specifically psychological symptoms major affective disorders. Systematic review. EBSCO, ProQuest, Web Science databases were searched February 2024 for studies adult samples quantifying (exposure, i.e. fear, worry or anxiety change) disorders (outcomes), as assessed by measures. However, results regarding post-traumatic disorder pathological mixed. Stronger associations observed where operationalised 'anxiety' rather than 'worry'. Findings underscore that burden. A limited number of studies have explored the connection between eco-anxiety, anxiety, and depression in adolescents. However, relation eco-anxiety suicide remains unexamined. This cross-sectional observational study aims to bridge this gap by investigating correlation intensity risk severity We used validated French versions Climate Anxiety Scale (CAS) its two key dimensions (cognitive emotional functional impairments), alongside Columbia Suicide Severity Rating (C-SSRS) Hospital Depression scale (HAD). Our involved 87 hospitalized adolescent patients, aged 12-16. Although, univariate model indicated a significant association CAS C-SSRS (β = 2.58; p 0.049), cognitive/emotional difficulties impairment considering different confounding factors, did not show statistical associations with (respectively, 0.81 0.76). This exploratory study investigates the relationship between climate change anxiety and self-efficacy in teaching education among Omani pre-service science teachers (PSSTs). Using a custom-designed questionnaire adapted from established scales, researchers collected data on levels across four domains (reported anxiety, stress levels, cognitive impacts, physiological impacts) to teach education. The survey was administered group of PSSTs, responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics correlation analysis. Results show all participating PSSTs experienced some level anxiety. A statistically significant, moderate negative found PSSTs' Higher associated with lower self-efficacy. No significant differences based gender or specialization. Building these findings, we discuss implications for teacher academics, curriculum developers, researchers, policymakers, others interested We argue range future initiatives initial that take into account.

Scientific literature is keen to promote the study of eco-anxiety despite its current low prevalence and inconsistent relationships with pro-environmental behavior mental health. In this paper, we analyze in a representative sample Spanish population (N = 1911) incremental validity eco-worry construct concerning that at three levels environmental commitment: high (environmental activists), medium (people who are not part any organization but would like to), neither belong groups nor want to). Our results showed (1) activists our did seem be eco-anxious rather eco-worried, (2) commitment, positively mediated relationship between climate change perception general willingness for behavior, eco-worry, eco-anxiety, connected life satisfaction through behave pro-environmentally. Abstract As climate change increasingly impacts global health, the psychological ramifications are becoming a significant concern, especially phenomenon known as eco‐anxiety. This anxiety stems from chronic fear of environmental doom and affects growing number individuals, profoundly impacting both personal collective well‐being. Notably, children adolescents particularly vulnerable to mental health effects events, showing heightened symptoms stress, depression, anxiety. Eco‐anxiety, while sharing similarities with general disorders in terms neural mechanisms, also exhibits unique characteristics that underscore its distinction. Research on neurobiological underpinnings eco‐anxiety reveals structures within brain's salience network, such midcingulate cortex insula, crucial detecting responding threats. These areas show altered structure function individuals experiencing high levels anxiety, correlating increased engagement pro‐environmental behaviors. Understanding these pathways is essential for developing targeted interventions not only mitigate distress but enhance resilience. Employing neuroscience‐based strategies, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, neurofeedback, may offer effective tools managing eco‐anxiety, ultimately empowering populations confront challenges renewed vigor sense control.
