Historically disadvantaged higher education institutions (HDHEIs) struggle to respond the ecological demands of influencing green behaviours at workplace. HR departments are required take a leading role through adoption HRM (GHRM) practices. This study explored professionals’ experiences with implementation GHRM practices and related challenges South African HDHEI. A qualitative approach was adopted. Semi-structured interviews were conducted 19 professionals. Thematic analysis employed analyse data. The findings revealed five themes linked practices: online advertisement invitation application, recruitment selection, training development, performance management compensation reward, financial constraints, lack awareness, complexity capital as challenges. concluded that an institutional vision, mission statements values should be developed aligned promote environmental sustainability HDHEIs.

Abstract In response to the triple‐bottom‐line sustainability challenges facing today's world, organizations are increasingly incorporating principles into their strategies; however, this is challenging for small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs) with limited resources. While sustainable human resource management (HRM) has recently gained scholarly prominence, impact of HRM practices on an organization's performance remains under‐explored. Anchored signalling theory, we address gap by examining performance. Drawing upon survey data collected from 254 employees across SMEs in Vietnam, found that managerial competency positively practices, which turn predict performance, while mediate these relationships. This study explores the complex connections between green innovation, environmental leadership, innovation climate, and performance in organizations within Saudi Arabia's industrial sectors.
