Historically

findings
revealed
five
themes
linked
practices:

advertisement
invitation
application,
recruitment
selection,
training
development,
performance
management
compensation
reward,
financial
constraints,
lack
awareness,
complexity
capital
as
challenges.

an
institutional
vision,
mission
statements
values
should
be
developed
aligned

environmental

Abstract
In
response
to
the
triple‐bottom‐line
sustainability
challenges
facing
today's
world,
organizations
are
increasingly
incorporating
principles
into
their
strategies;
however,
this
is
challenging
for
small
and
medium‐sized
enterprises
(SMEs)
with
limited
resources.
While
sustainable
human
resource
management
(HRM)
has
recently
gained
scholarly
prominence,
impact
of
HRM
practices
on
an
organization's
performance
remains
under‐explored.
Anchored
signalling
theory,
we
address
gap
by
examining
performance.
Drawing
upon
survey
data
collected
from
254
employees
across
SMEs
in
Vietnam,
found
that
managerial
competency
positively
practices,
which
turn
predict
performance,
while
mediate
these
relationships.
