Abstract An eco‐friendly strategy for the synthesis of highly ordered meso‐ and microporous zeolites is required both in academia industry. Therefore, asymmetrical anionic‐nonionic gemini surfactants, polyoxyethylene laurinol ether sodium sulfoitaconate (Gemini‐ n ), have been designed, synthesized used directed hierarchical ZSM‐5 (HZSM‐5) by imparting substantial mesoporosity. The hydrothermal temperature, amount surfactants crystallization time strongly affected degree textural properties HZSM‐5. tune porous size distribution (microporous to mesoporous) can be obtained varying number ethylene oxide units surfactants. Besides, use these novel an effective avoid phase‐separation. existence abundant hydroxyl groups on surface HZSM‐5 was immobilize molybdenum compound stable Mo−O bond. complex with intercrystal mesopores exhibited superior catalytic performance high yield selectivity epoxidation reactions alkenes as compared conventional ZSM‐5. Moreover, presented ability after reused five times.

Cultural Heritage is a crucial socioeconomic resource; yet, recurring degradation processes endanger its preservation. Serendipitous approaches in restoration practice need to be replaced by systematically addressing conservation issues through the development of advanced materials for preservation artifacts. In last few decades, and colloid science have provided valid solutions counteract degradation, we report here main highlights formulation application methodologies cleaning, protection consolidation works art. Several types artifacts are addressed, from murals canvas paintings, metal objects, paper artworks, comprising both classic modern/contemporary Systems, such as nanoparticles, gels, nanostructured cleaning fluids, composites, other functional materials, reviewed. Future perspectives also commented, outlining open trends this challenging exciting field.

Abstract Cultural heritage assets constitute a fundamental socioeconomic resource, but the actual works of art need to be maintained, counteracting degradation processes, transfer these benefits future generations. In particular, removal soil, aged coatings, and vandalism/overpaints is one most needed interventions in restoration. Traditional cleaning methodologies, based on classical solution polymer chemistry, only grant limited control interventions, with risk affecting original components artifacts, often involving use toxic or non-environmentally friendly compounds. Alternatively, materials science, colloids, soft matter have provided valuable safe solutions last decades. This review provides selection recent advanced methodologies for wet art, spanning from nanostructured fluids (microemulsions, surfactants swollen micelles) physical chemical gels. The new work different physico-chemical mechanisms, such as processes detaching/dewetting, selectively remove unwanted layers sustainable cost-effective interventions. best performing systems, like microemulsions confined “twin-chain” polyvinyl alcohol gels, been assessed masterpieces by Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock Roy Lichtenstein. Particular attention dedicated “green” chemistry using low-toxicity solvents bio-based/waste build gel networks. Finally, current trends perspectives are given, showing that systems link transversal fields crucial importance even beyond conservation, e.g., detergency, tissue engineering, drug-delivery, food industry cosmetics.

This review focuses on key topics in the field of drug delivery related to design nanocarriers answering biomedicine criteria, including biocompatibility, biodegradability, low toxicity, and ability overcome biological barriers. For these reasons, much attention is paid amphiphile-based carriers composed natural building blocks, lipids, their structural analogues synthetic surfactants that are capable self-assembly with formation a variety supramolecular aggregates. The latter dynamic structures can be used as nanocontainers for hydrophobic drugs increase solubility bioavailability. In this section, biodegradable cationic bearing cleavable fragments discussed, ester- carbamate-containing analogs, well amino acid derivatives received special attention. Drug through barriers challenging task, which highlighted by example transdermal method administration. paper, nonionic primarily application fabrication nanocarriers, surfactant-skin interactions, mechanisms modulating permeability, factors controlling encapsulation, release, targeted delivery. Different types covered, niosomes, transfersomes, invasomes chitosomes, morphological specificity, beneficial characteristics limitations discussed.

A series of novel anionic e-surfactants n-C cP pS was molecular designed and synthesized from long-chain fatty alcohols by polypropoxylation sulfation followed neutralization. Excellent all-round performance extended surfactants (e-surfactants) interests us how a simple polypropylene oxide (PPO) spacer has great effects on properties. By comparative study conventional/ethoxylated/extended n-alkylsulfate surfactants, we were surprised to find that are in an obvious rugby shape at the air/water surface according area ( am), it comes down intramolecular PPO coiling surface-induced collapse. On basis interfacial properties e-surfactants, is found can provide both hydrophilic lipophilic contributions e-surfactant molecule. The synergism between spacers alkyl chains indicates certain adjust view different chain lengths. Therefore, rugby-shaped geometry dynamic amphipathicity makes behave with excellent solution for household cleaning. this work gives hint plays vital role similar amphipathicity.
