Nitric oxide (NO) is an important biochemical molecule that endogenously produced to act for instance as neurotransmitter, effect cell growth, or regulate the immune response. Therapeutic treatment with exogeneous NO difficult owing its gaseous and reactive nature and, not surprising, specific molecules deliver have been developed. Amongst various triggers deliberately release from these NO-releasing molecules, light most elegant allows a high degree of control over time location NO-release. For therapeutic applications, it necessary use long-wavelength light, preferably in red near infrared region, which challenging achieve. Metastatic squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in the spleen is a rare malignant tumor primarily originating from areas covered by epithelium. The present study reports case of 58‑year‑old man who had undergone radical gastrectomy for gastric SCC and subtotal splenectomy anemia previously, now presented with abdominal pain. On presentation to Emergency Department Shaoxing Second Hospital (Shaoxing, China), bedside emergency ultrasound (US) examination was performed, which revealed mass mimicking splenic abscess residual spleen. Most therapeutics delivered using short-acting formulations need repeated administration, which can harm patient compliance and raise failure risks related to inconsistent treatment. Injectable long-acting (ILAFs) are controlled/sustained-release fabricated deliver active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) extend their half-life over days months. Longer half-lives of ILAFs minimize the necessity for frequent doses, increase compliance, reduce risk side effects from intravenous (IV) infusions. Using ILAF technologies, immediate drug release also be controlled, thereby minimizing potential adverse due high initial blood concentrations.
