Neurological disorders pose significant global public health challenges, with a rising prevalence and complex pathophysiological mechanisms that impose substantial social economic burdens. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), its holistic approach multi-target effects, has gained increasing attention in the treatment of neurological diseases. This review explores bioactive compounds derived from herbal plants, focusing on their action, underlying pathways, potential applications functional food development. The highlights neuroprotective properties flavonoids, alkaloids, polysaccharides, polyphenols found key TCM herbs such as Scutellaria baicalensis , Salvia miltiorrhiza Ligusticum chuanxiong Gastrodia elata . These have demonstrated anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neurogenic making them promising candidates for prevention conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s (PD), depression. Furthermore, synergistic effects formulations targeting multiple signaling pathways offer advantages over single-target therapies, especially combating neurodegenerative also discusses challenges future directions integrating these into foods dietary supplements, aiming to improve enhance clinical outcomes. Abstract The treatment of brain diseases has always been the focus attention. Due to presence blood‐brain barrier (BBB), most small molecule drugs are difficult reach brain, leading undesirable therapeutic outcomes. Recently, nanomedicines that can cross BBB and precisely target lesion sites have emerged as thrilling tools enhance early diagnosis treat various intractable disorders. Extensive research shown reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a crucial role in occurrence progression diseases, including tumors neurodegenerative (NDDs) such Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's stroke, or traumatic injury, making ROS potential target. Depression and cognitive disorders remain major challenges in healthcare, with conventional treatments often facing limitations such as slow onset, side effects, poor drug delivery to the brain. Biomimetic nanodelivery systems, including nanozymes, cell membrane-based exosomes, have emerged promising solutions these issues. These systems leverage natural biological processes enhance targeting, improve bioavailability, regulate complex pathways. Nanoenzymes, their catalytic properties, offer antioxidant anti-inflammatory benefits, while membranes exosomes provide efficient targeting immune evasion. However, remain, immaturity of large-scale production techniques, stability concerns, incomplete understanding mechanisms action. Moreover, long-term safety, pharmacokinetics, toxicity require further investigation. Despite obstacles, potential biomimetic revolutionize depression treatment is significant. Future research should focus on optimizing preparation, improving release, ensuring clinical safety.
