Owing to its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activities, in the last few years, lavender essential oil (LVO) has been used medical applications as a promising approach for treating infected wounds. However, practical applicability of LVO is limited by high volatility storage stability. This study aimed develop novel hybrid hydrogel combining phytic acid (PA)-crosslinked sodium alginate (SA) poly(itaconic anhydride-co-3,9-divinyl-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro[5.5] undecane (PITAU) evaluate potential effectiveness an antibacterial wound dressing after incorporating LVO. The influence mass ratio between SA PITAU on properties stability hydrogels was investigated. After loading, effect addition their functional associated structural changes studied. FTIR analysis revealed that hydrogen bonding primary interaction mechanism components hydrogels. morphology analyzed using SEM, evidencing porosity dependent PITAU, while droplets were well dispersed polymer blend. release from determined UV-VIS spectroscopy, indicating sustained over time, independent concentration. In addition, tested antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive Gram-negative bacteria. Very good obtained case sample SA_PITAU3+LVO10% S. aureus C. albicans. Moreover, vivo tests showed increased compared oil-free scaffold may aid accelerating healing process
