Antibiotic contamination has become a severe issue and dangerous concern to the environment because of large release antibiotic effluent into terrestrial aquatic ecosystems. To try solve these issues, plethora research on withdrawal been carried out. Recently photocatalysis received tremendous attention due its ability remove antibiotics from aqueous solutions in cost-effective environmentally friendly manner with few drawbacks compared traditional photocatalysts. Considerable focused developing advanced visible light-driven photocatalysts order address problems. This review provides an overview recent developments field photocatalytic degradation antibiotics, including doping metals non-metals ultraviolet photocatalysts, formation new semiconductor advancement heterojunction building surface plasmon resonance-enhanced systems.
