Since the launch of "Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3.5", ChatGPT by Open, artificial intelligence (AI) has been a main discussion topic in public. Especially large language models (LLM), so called "intelligent" chatbots, and possibility to automatically generate highly professional technical texts get high attention. Companies, as well researchers, are evaluating possible applications how such powerful LLM can be integrated into daily work bring benefits, improve their business or make research outcome more efficient. In general, underlying trained on datasets, mainly sources from websites, online books articles. combination with information provided user, model give an impressively fast response. Even if range questions answers look unrestricted, there limits models. this paper, use cases for agricultural tasks elucidated. This includes textual preparation facts, consulting tasks, interpretation decision support plant disease management, guides tutorials integrate modern digital techniques work. Opportunities challenges described, limitations insufficiencies. The authors describe map easy-to-reach topics agriculture where integration LLMs seems very likely within next few years.

Digitalization of agriculture is often hailed as the next agricultural revolution. However, little yet known about its social impacts and power effects. This review addresses this research gap by analyzing patterns inequality linked to development adoption digital technologies in reviewing strategies developed reduce these inequalities challenge relations which they are embedded. Analysis 84 publications found through a systematic literature identified five inequality: (1) technology development; (2) distribution benefits from use technologies; (3) sovereignty over data, hardware infrastructure; (4) skills knowledge (‘digital literacy’); (5) problem definition problem-solving capacities. also highlights existence emancipatory initiatives that applying existing advance alternative visions agriculture. These underscore political nature agriculture; however, their reach still quite limited. partly due fact structural represent expressions corporate power. From such perspective, digitalization not ‘revolution’ per se; rather, mirror reproduce relations.

Understanding the complex process of generational renewal (GR) in agriculture is essential for supporting continuation farming. This paper demonstrates how multiple factors, simultaneously and through their mutual interactions, influence GR related individual decision-making processes. Results originated from 155 in-depth interviews performed on 85 farms eleven European regions, were triangulated with literature. Our analysis, combining inductive deductive approaches, revealed three conceptual phases (successor identity formation, farm succession process, development) fourteen factors important to understand GR. We elaborate these interact, hence exert impact (one of) a variable way. Implications highlight potential pitfalls opportunities attracting people into agriculture. Although policy-makers should be aware limited ability affect by targeting first phase, we propose some ideas that would complement current existing measures acting third phase.

Digital technologies nowadays play a major role in innovation within the agri-food domain. The evolution of IT systems has currently arrived at level that involves complex integration and business ecosystems which many stakeholders different roles are involved. A new paradigm for digital is needed copes with this increased complexity. This paper presents an empirically informed framework analysing designing viable, sustainable research based on series European large-scale public-private projects from 2011 to 2021 total budget 73 M€. This paper used the entropy method to measure comprehensive level of China’s urban regional digital economy development and measured transformation upgrading industrial structures from both quantitative qualitative dimensions. Based on panel data 271 prefecture-level cities in China 2011 2018, this investigated impact transmission mechanisms through a fixed effects model, mediating effect threshold regression model. The results show following: First, has significant positive role promoting quantity quality structures, stronger explanatory power for structures. Second, mechanism analysis shows that can accelerate by stimulating innovation. Third, model nonlinear characteristics. Fourth, heterogeneity. It greatest western region, followed central region eastern region.
