Clinopodium nepeta subsp. spruneri is an aromatic herb with a mint-oregano flavor, used in Mediterranean regions traditional medicine. The aerial parts of the plant are rich essential oil that has antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties as well insecticidal activity. aim our work was to determine yield composition plant, relation harvest season cultivation method, i.e., outdoor, greenhouse vitro culture, using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analytical tool. Essential fluctuated similarly outdoor plants during year (0.9-2.6%), higher percentages (2.1-2.6%) hottest periods June-October (flowering stage) April (vegetative stage), similar (1.7%). More compounds were identified (35) compared (21), while main same, pulegone (13.0-32.0%, highest February-April, 15.0% vitro), piperitenone oxide (3.8-31.8%, lowest February, 34.2% piperitone epoxide (4.6-16.4%, 15.5% D-limonene (2.1-8.8%, 10.0% isomenthone (2.3-23.0%, 4.6% germacrene D (1.9-6.5% December-April, 2.9% vitro) dicyclogermacrene (2.1-5.3%, 5.2% vitro). Therefore, cultures equally efficient yielding its constituents cultivation, cultivations, season, mainly due prevailing ambient temperatures, affected percentage composition.

Abstract Background Complementary and Integrative Medicine (CIM) is often taken up by individuals seeking relief from different diseases. This study investigates the prevalence associated factors of CIM use in patients with COVID-19. Methods In this telephone-based, cross-sectional study, data on usage were collected COVID-19 February till June 2020 Fars province, Iran using a researcher-made checklist. Additionally, we asked about patients’ attitudes toward these treatments. Results Out 453 diagnosed COVID-19, 400 (88.30%) responded to our calls agreed participate study. Among them, 276 reported treat [prevalence: 69% (95% CI: 64.2 73.5)]. The most frequently used herbal medicine among was ginger (n = 273, 98.9%), thyme 263, 95.3%), black cumin 205, 74.3%). Most recommended their families friends 96, 34.8%). Univariable logistic regression revealed that age under 50 years old, residency urban areas (including capital province small cities), employment, academic education, being an outpatient statistically significant resulting usage. Multivariable outpatients 3.65 times more than inpatients. addition, old 85% older patients. Ultimately, only 9 (3.3%) consulted doctors regarding medications. No side effects due reported. Conclusion Many CIM, but few physicians regard. Therefore, should ask usage, also report therapies during medical visits. Furthermore, hospitalization status affected

The COVID-19 pandemic affected agri-food systems worldwide. However, while the impacts differed from one country/region to another, scholarly literature seems focus on developed countries in Global North. Consequently, this review scrutinizes pandemic's Near East and North Africa (NENA) region. A search Web of Science March 2023 generated 334 documents, which 151 were eligible for inclusion systematic review. According bibliometric analysis, most active nations are Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon. In general, coverage studies is better Gulf region than less those suffering wars (cf. Libya, Syria, Yemen). Studies generally crop production downstream food chain distribution consumption). While influenced every pillar security, research concentrates access utilization. Meanwhile, lion's share deals with socio-economic effects, especially linked (in)security health. pandemic, laid bare system vulnerabilities, should be seized foster transition towards more resilient NENA

Deep eutectic solvents (DES) hold promising potential in the selective purification of bioactive molecules from various complex sources. Although they are increasingly considered as a biocompatible extraction medium, adding task-specific functionality, which makes DES distinctive for compounds, requires appropriate tailoring their physical properties. This critical review investigates influential properties deep and effect on sustainable methods—including both solid–liquid liquid–liquid—for separation nutraceuticals. Various methods by employed solvents, cosolvents, or adjuvants different systems compared terms efficiency selectivity. Furthermore, correspondence between type nature target nutraceuticals to be extracted is also discussed.
