Abstract The impact of family‐supportive supervision at the team level has largely not been explored. Since teams are cornerstone organizational effectiveness, it is critical to understand how managers can lead achieve higher performance. We develop and test a team‐level moderated mediation model that unpacks Family Supportive Supervisor Behaviours (FSSB) on Drawing Conservation Resources (COR) theory, we hypothesize team's other‐focused emotional climate mediates positive effects FSSB performance managers' relational job characteristics attenuate influence FSSB. Results from two‐wave, multi‐source study 435 employees their across 56 electronic retail stores support our predictions. Purpose Drawing upon the Conservation of Resources theory and Relational Demography Theory, we examine crossover supervisor family experiences to subordinates in workplace. We posit that family-to-work enrichment conflict influence subordinate perceptions support for work–family, which, turn, positively affects work engagement job satisfaction negatively turnover intentions. The effects on are respectively suggested be strengthened weakened by demographic similarity between subordinate. Design/methodology/approach Using a sample 496 employees nested within 83 supervisors from China, conducted multilevel analysis. Findings Our results indicate have negative positive (respectively) subordinates’ work–family support, this effect is moderated low, rather than high, supervisor–subordinate dyad. Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly transformed the global landscape, introducing unprecedented levels of uncertainty that widely shaped business environment and entrepreneurial intentions. Abstract Family‐supportive supervisor behaviours (FSSB) and their association with employees' work, family, health outcomes have been widely investigated in workplace contexts.
