(VaD)

diseases,
which
each

contribute
to
more
than

million
deaths

alone
necessitate
a
better
understanding
mechanisms
involved.
To
this
end,
large
number
recent
preclinical
clinical
studies
have
focused
on
exponential
accumulation
senescent
cells
system
paid
particular
attention

roles

secretory
phenotype,

age-mediated
modulation

ABSTRACT
The
ability
of
organisms
to
cope
with
poor
quality
nutrition
is
essential
for
their
persistence.
For
species
a
short
generation
time,
the
nutritional
environments
can
transcend
generations,
making
it
beneficial
adults
prime
offspring

diets.
However,
our
understanding
adaptive
generational
responses,
including
those
diet
quality,
are
still
very
limited.
Here,
we
used
vinegar
fly,
Drosophila
melanogaster,
investigate
whether
females
developing

larvae
on
nutritionally
produce

primed
nutrient
deficiencies
in
following
generations.

found
developed
low-quality
diets
produced

had
both

egg-to-adult
viability
and
starvation
tolerance
compared

nutrient-rich
diet.
