Abstract Cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) not only reflects an individual’s capacity to perform physical activities but also encapsulates broader effects on the basic biology of aging. This review aims summarize evidence influence CRF overall and site-specific cancer risks. It delves into biological mechanisms through which may exert its effects, explores clinical implications these findings, identifies gaps in current base, suggests directions for future research. The synthesis findings reveals that higher levels (general threshold > 7 METs) are consistently associated with a reduced risk range cancers, including head neck, lung, breast, gastrointestinal, particularly pancreatic colorectal, bladder, incidence mortality, potentially stomach liver, bile duct, gall bladder cancers. These inverse associations between do generally differ across age groups, sex, race, or adiposity, suggesting universal protective effect CRF. Nonetheless, linking skin, mouth pharynx, kidney, endometrial cancers is limited inconclusive. Conversely, be linked increased prostate hematological malignancies, such as leukemia myeloma, although still conclusive. appears play significant role reducing several various mechanisms, inflammation reduction, immune system enhancement, hormonal regulation, metabolic improvements. Overall, enhancing regular activity offers vital, accessible strategy extending health span. Future research should aim fill existing regarding specific elucidate detailed dose–response relationships risk. Studies needed causal mechanistic pathways outcomes.

Abstract Obesity paradox refers to the clinical observation that when acute cardiovascular decompensation occurs, patients with obesity may have a survival benefit. This apparently runs counter epidemiology of obesity, which increase risk for non‐communicable diseases (NCDs). The scientific community is split on paradox, some supporting it, while others call it BMI paradox. review: (a) defines and its proposed role in overall mortality NCDs; (b) delineates evidence against paradox; (c) presents importance using different indices body mass assess (d) examines metabolically healthy emerging cardio‐respiratory fitness (CRF) as an independent predictor CVD all‐cause with/without obesity. Evidence suggests development insulin resistance are influenced by genetic (or ethnic) make up dietary habits (culture) individuals. Abstract Background Maximum oxygen consumption is a measure of an individual’s cardiorespiratory fitness which singular predictor array diseases. Several exercise and non-exercise assessments are frequently compared to know method(s) provide the most accurate estimation aerobic capacity due difficulties in using direct method. There need if method right fit for population without huge overestimation or underestimation ethnical variation. This study was undertaken assess estimations healthy African males by submaximal exercise-based non-exercise-based equations undergraduate students University Ibadan, Nigeria. Results VO 2 significantly higher Ibadan all used (44.38 ± 39.07, 62.46 27.61, 44.38 46.37 3.31, 46.16 3.64, 47.08 3.19). The two exercises Bland–Altman Plot showed high degree agreement, further linear regression performed no proportional bias on distribution data around mean difference line ( p > 0.05). Cross-validation plot five non–exercise predicted with YMCA test Bruce significance P < 0.05) that from methods provided line. Conclusion asserts caution should be taken when equation predict population. It therefore recommended carry out various assessment wider protocols, also develop predictive specific

Background/Objectives: Evidence supports the benefits of concurrent training (CT), which combines endurance and resistance exercises, for enhancing health physical fitness. Recently, low-volume, time-efficient exercise approaches such as low-volume high-intensity interval (LOW-HIIT), whole-body electromyostimulation (WB-EMS), single-set (1-RT) have gained popularity their feasibility efficacy in improving various outcomes. This study investigated effects CT, focusing on (1) whether order affects cardiometabolic health, inflammation, fitness adaptations (2) combination, LOW-HIIT plus WB-EMS or 1-RT, yields better results. Methods: Ninety-three obese metabolic syndrome (MetS) patients undergoing caloric restriction were randomly assigned to four groups performing different CT protocols over 12 weeks. Outcomes included cardiometabolic, inflammatory, parameters. Results: In both combinations, no significant differences found regarding order. However, pooled 1-RT group achieved superior improvements blood pressure, lipids, inflammation markers (CRP, hsCRP), MetS severity score, overall compared combination. Compared previous studies using these modalities individually, appeared further reduce whereas combined with was less effective potentially due interference between modalities. Conclusions: While appears be a viable option individuals unable perform traditional training, findings suggest prioritizing maximize These highlight importance tailored prescriptions need research into optimizing diverse populations.
