The COVID-19 crisis has imposed a rediscussion of energy transition, offering the chance promoting socioeconomic and ecological resilience to sector, crucial for post-pandemic recovery. Our societies are faced with unique opportunity changing people's behaviours improving their lives. In EU, Green Deal is saluted as new package policy interventions aiming at achieving social goals such job creation reducing economic inequality – mostly by means renewable resource efficiency. However, ongoing transition been affected COVID-19-related measures. This work proposes give insights into EU citizens' pre-pandemic perception some key sustainability factors, which may be view finding prime indications useful Making use 2019 Eurobarometer data, selected aspects perceptions evaluated. Logit regressions estimated render modelling. Results suggest evidence interrelated issues including resilience, vulnerability, cooperation, competition, sovereignty, security, safety climate change. findings indicate important environmental implications diversity sorting results, regional-level differences embodied domestic characteristics allow macro-regional explorations. • Renewable efficiency in European analysed. data on diverse EU.

Energy poverty is a significant development issue that not univocally interpreted. In many parts of the world, people do have access to modern and reliable energy, which can be big problem, particularly for vulnerable developing countries. When they will often able get power need improve their lives. addition, may proper food, education, health, sanitation, or basic needs daily living. We use interval-based composite indicators triplex representations intervals measure assess electricity in 54 countries as concept approximating relevant aspects energy poverty. The proposed metric innovative because it accurately quantifies how much available resilient are when lose energy. After comparing different representations, we found one group more national international events than other. However, other problems. Conflicts wars impact index used measured by index, these factors contribute poor performance.

After almost two decades of continuous development in bio, circular, and green economy, it is time to assess the major achievements challenges that private public enterprises face today for further enhancing global sustainability concepts. To this end, present thematic issue accommodates twenty articles on different topics related circular economy growth, proposing a contribution field environmental economics policy. The central feature Special Issue focus best practices terms growth eco-innovation developing transitioning structurally challenged areas. Hence, study elaborates pathways context countries with relatively low per capita income. By doing this, collection shows empirically established Kuznets curve—i.e., inverted U-shaped income-environment nexus—can must be critically questioned, at least contexts mentioned within framework our Issue. geographic frontiers upgrading, carbon-saving bioeconomic development, are not limited economically advanced
