Rare earth elements (REEs) are metals including the 15 lanthanides together with Yttrium and Scandium. China is leading country in their exploitation production (∼90%). REEs necessary for of several technological devices. This extended use has raised concerns about human health safety. In this review, we investigated hazard to main gaps into knowledge like as need develop further focused research activity. We categorized papers collected eight sections: environmental exposure, association problems, exposure due lifestyle, REE through food chain, Gd contrast agents causing occupational cytotoxicity studies REEs. review provided information exposome (the body), existing data, that require attention must be investigated. More than one third literature toxicity cell lines, while hair, blood serum most studied matrices. The results evidenced can enter body via routes, associated numerous diseases, cause ROS production, DNA damage death, more toxic cancer cells normal cells.

Cadmium and lead soil contamination is a widespread environmental problem that requires profound sustainable solutions. These toxic elements can be naturally occurring on the Earth’s crust or from man-made origins. could accumulate translocate in over long term. Thus, their risk of entering food chain extremely elevated effects living organisms web are great concern. The main purpose this review study to emphasize human health cadmium as an contaminant plants. Human exposure cause severe illness; for instance, long-term alter kidney dysfunction. Additionally, threatens nervous system causes countless diseases. Hence, remediation before they enter remains essential, regular monitoring principal sources crucially needed ecosystem.

People spend increasing amounts of time at home, yet the indoor home environment remains understudied in terms potential exposure to toxic trace metals. We evaluated metal (and metalloid) concentrations (As, Cu, Cr, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn) health risks dust from homes 35 countries, along with a suite potentially contributory residential characteristics. The objective was determine source inputs conditions associated risk across range international communities. For all enrichments compared global crustal values were Zn > Pb Cu As Cr Ni; greatest followed by Mn Ni Zn. Three main sources identified, Pb–Zn–As factor related legacy sources, Zn–Cu reflecting building materials, indicative natural soil sources. Increasing age greater (5.0 0.48 mg/kg per year age, respectively), as peeling paint garden access. Therefore, these factors form important considerations for development evidence-based management strategies reduce posed house dust. Recent findings indicate neurocognitive effects low exposures; hence, an understanding exposome is vital.

The growing need to monitor Hg levels in the environment control its emissions and evaluate effectiveness of reduction policies is driving scientific community focus efforts on creating analytical methods that are simpler, lower cost, more performing, environmentally sustainable. In this context, an important contribution provided by microextraction techniques, which have long proven be simple, reliable, ensure responsible sample preparation. This manuscript reviews recent progress determination environmental using techniques. considered studies involve all compartments (i.e., air, water, soil, biota) been discussed grouping them according employed technique while pointing out main advances achieved most limitations. ultimate goal provide up-to-date overview potential techniques can exploited various investigation fields highlight knowledge gaps should addressed coming years, such as in-situ sampling, use natural materials, value metrological support obtain data SI-traceable comparable.

This study reviews the sources and factors impacting soil quality in Ghana associated health environmental implications. After sourcing 386 materials from different search engines, these were subjected to content evaluation novelty/concept analysis with a score of 100% 146 retained for this study. From review, agricultural, mining, urban, industrial activities, poor waste disposal, vehicular road traffic main sources/factors influencing levels/distributions contaminates Ghana's pedological system. Pesticides including chlorpyrifos, β-hexachlorocyclohexane, p,p'-dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, p,p'-dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene, hexachlorobenzene heptachlor have also been identified elevated levels. Also, heavy metals detected dumpsites e-waste disposal sites. HMs such as Zn (558), Cr (77), Cu (347), As (4.2), Pb (288) (mg/kg) dominated sites Ghana. Extremely low levels macro-nutrients organic carbon high metals/metalloids contents Hg, Zn, Pb, prevail mining areas It is concluded that system threatened by anthropogenic activities resulting detection above-threshold contaminants agrochemicals, PAHs, HMs, metalloids.
