Polyphenols are natural compounds with enhanced antioxidant properties. They present in relatively high concentrations fruit/vegetable by-products. Therefore, there is a need for the development of efficient and cost-effective methods separation purification these valuable compounds. Abstract Pyrogallol, a natural polyphenol compound (1,2,3‐trihydroxybenzene), has shown efficacy in the therapeutic treatment of disorders associated with inflammation. Nevertheless, mechanisms underlying protective properties pyrogallol against influenza A virus infection are not yet established. We established this study that effectively alleviated H1N1 virus‐induced lung injury and reduced mortality. Treatment was found to promote expression nuclear translocation factor erythroid‐2‐related 2 (Nrf2) peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor gamma (PPAR‐γ). Notably, activation Nrf2 by involved elevating PPAR‐γ, both which act synergistically enhance heme oxygenase‐1 (HO‐1) synthesis. Blocking HO‐1 zinc protoporphyrin (ZnPP) suppressive impact on virus‐mediated aberrant retinoic acid‐inducible gene‐I‐nuclear kappa B (RIG‐I–NF‐κB) signaling, thus abolished dampening effects excessive proinflammatory mediators cell death (including apoptosis, necrosis, ferroptosis). The medicinal potential of plant extracts, especially their antimicrobial, antioxidant, antiviral and cytotoxic properties, has gained significant attention in recent years. This study examined the vitro bioactivities several selected Greek plants, like Eucalyptus globulus L., Thymus vulgaris Salvia rosmarinus L. Ocimum basilicum are well-known for traditional therapeutic use. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) assays were used to evaluate antimicrobial activity extracts against pathogenic bacteria. antioxidant was carried out using DPPH method, while cytotoxicity plants determined Alamar Blue method.
