There is increasing evidence that the presence of certain pharmaceuticals in environment leads to biota exposure and constitute a potential risk for ecosystems. Bioaccumulation an essential focus assessment evaluate at what degree emerging contaminants are hazard both individuals inhabit it. The main goals present review 1) summarize describe research factors should be taken into account evaluation bioaccumulation aquatic organisms; 2) provide database critical bioaccumulation/bioconcentration (BAF or BCF) these compounds organisms different trophic levels. Most studies fall one two categories: laboratory-scale absorption purification tests field and, lesser extent, large-scale, semi-natural system tests. Although last 5 years there has been considerable progress this field, especially species fish molluscs, still limited on other like crustaceans algae. In recent years, there has been growing concern about antibiotic contamination in water bodies, particularly the widespread presence of fluoroquinolones (FQs), which pose a serious threat to ecosystems due their extensive use and phenomenon "pseudo-persistence". This article provides comprehensive review literature on FQs summarizing analyzing levels global surface over past three as well bioaccumulation metabolism patterns aquatic organisms, ecological toxicity, influencing factors. The results show that is across surveyed 32 countries, with ciprofloxacin norfloxacin being most heavy contaminants. Furthermore, are generally higher developing developed countries.
