Sustainable storm water management benefits a lot from low impact development (LID). The early-stage design of LID layout is critical for practices. However, the technology gaps still exist an accurate, flexible, and systematic solution optimal design. Literature works usually only consider size number facilities in given scenario or even totally empirical, which lacks integration facility selection, connection, with multiple objectives together. Therefore, this study proposed generic comprehensive framework cost–benefit analysis. Powered by computer coding scheme hybrid optimization algorithm, was successfully verified Sponge City Shenzhen, China. results genetic algorithm proved stability novel layout. best worst scenarios are selected Pareto front through entropy weight method. variable cost method revealed sensitivity preference decision maker. High construction costs environmental effectiveness can be scientifically balanced procedure expected to widely applied practices around world.

Green infrastructure (GI) is a fundamental building block of our cities. It contributes to the sustainability and vitality cities by offering various benefits such as greening, cooling, water, air quality, managing carbon emissions. GI plays an essential role in enhancing overall well-being. The utilisation artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for optimisation perceived powerful approach A knowledge gap, nevertheless, remains research on AI-driven tackling climate change. This study aims consolidate comprehension optimisation, particularly methodology adopts PRISMA protocol perform systematic literature review. review results are analysed from six aspects—i.e., objectives, objectives categories, indicators, models, types, scales. findings revealed: (a) was mainly undertaken areas biodiversity ecosystem security, energy efficiency, public health, heat islands, water management; (b) Indicator categories were concentrated indicators related GI, objective, other general/supporting indicators. Based these findings, framework developed enhance understanding process within realm

ABSTRACT Green-grey infrastructures' implementation has progressed significantly in cities around the globe for sustainable stormwater management. This review study conducted on green-grey optimization represented recent research trends, existing status, possible gaps, and future directions recommendations needed further improvements. The findings show that infrastructures got significant attention recently (after 2012) because of accessibility to computational resources development hydrological-hydraulic models algorithms. Furthermore, is mostly ten countries including China, USA Iran ranked first three places, respectively, delivering their advantages other with essential awareness knowledge. Most previous studies considered particular quantitative qualitative objectives these were at smaller retrofitting scales, therefore, need expand scope towards socio-ecological consideration larger areas or multi-stage planning, designing, implementation. Moreover, recommended consider stakeholders’ participation preliminary planning designing stages successful management approaches. Lastly, surrogate-based approaches instead traditional methods can overcome burden time future.

Land use allocation (LUA) is of prime importance for the development urban sustainability and resilience. Since process planning managing land requires balancing different conflicting social, economic, environmental factors, it has become a complex significant issue in worldwide. LUA usually regarded as spatial multi-objective optimization (MOO) problem previous studies. In this paper, we develop an MOO approach tackling problem, which maximum economy, minimum carbon emissions, accessibility, integration, compactness are formulated optimal objectives. To solve improved non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm III (NSGA-III) proposed terms mutation crossover operations by preserving constraints on sizes each type. The was applied to KaMavota district, Maputo City, Mozambique, generate proper plan. results showed that NSGA-III yielded better performance than standard NSGA-III. solutions produced provide good trade-offs between This research beneficial policymakers city planners providing alternative plans
