While coal–biomass cocombustion has gained considerable attention as a climate-sensitive power generation strategy, the detrimental impact of inorganic species present in low-rank fuels can lead to counterproductive outcomes combustion systems. Low-rank solid negatively affect heat transfer efficiency and energy conversion during steam generation, resulting adverse environmental consequences. However, combination improved technology fuel quality improvements enable safe utilization these fuels. This review highlights pressing need for research improvement an effective climate change mitigation strategy global transition renewable sources. Identifying problematic understanding mechanisms ash formation are critical steps toward designing strategies control aerosol-induced fouling. The paper discusses methods promoting clean combustion, including pretreatment cocombustion. Additionally, examines recent advancements strategies, such CFD-targeted-in-furnace injection (CFD-TIFI), intelligent soot blowing, additive technology, with focus on mineral additives. Due its high efficiency, low cost, minimal retrofit requirements, holds promise large-scale applications, paving way flexibility utility-scale generation. current study emphasizes importance transformation characterization techniques evaluating effectiveness Assessing viability applications economically feasibility demonstration requires further research.

This paper proposes the assessment of impacts using electric vehicles for urban service trips. In particular, focus is on trips performed delivering and installing products, as well reverse logistics. Such components commercial traffic in areas have not received level attention it deserves. fact, recent research mainly deals with shop restocking, visits to establishments e-commerce deliveries, limited has been paid sector (e.g., installation, maintenance, repairs) which can a high impact city sustainability terms pollution emissions, congestion land use parking. Furthermore, pushed by current trend towards promotion vehicles, an developed comparing potential patterns real data from inner area Rome (Italy) when fleet replaces traditional one. Results show opportunity decouple delivery operation installation one, integrate These significant results could address adoption suitable integrated policies make most opportunities arising vehicles.

Rapid urbanization and industrialization with their negative repercussions draw attention to the need for urban sustainability. This research built on systems understanding linked resource utilization, environmental effects, people-environment interactions, adaptive management by integrating quantitative modelling of metabolism a qualitative investigation into human responses. A hybrid methodology was applied in typical industrial city Jinchang, China, which exemplified model how complex dynamics link inform sustainability transitions. The study found that Jinchang City had taken an unsustainable trajectory underpinned continuous growth material consumption, whereas potential transitions also observed decoupled outputs, improved efficiency, environment regeneration collectively. challenges cities have been framed terms development lock-in, conceptual institutional constraints, innovation capital deficiencies, governance failure. proposed government-led transformation system integrates multi-level multi-perspective transformations employing discipline insights facilitate involves governance, economic technological innovations, social transformations, implementations, public engagement are essential elements adapting undesirable difficulties exploring locally appropriate strategies. provided theoretical empirical basis along scientific policy implications, contributed developing interdisciplinary knowledge real-world solutions.
