The development of widely sourced and efficient adsorbents is crucial for the adsorption lead from wastewater. A novel adsorbent, N-doped weathered coal (NWC), was prepared in this study using as precursor triethylenetetramine (TETA) N-source. performance behavior Pb(II) on NWC were investigated batch experiments. results demonstrated that has an towards Pb(II), with a maximum monolayer capacity 216.32 mg g−1 (25 °C). process spontaneous endothermic, importance chemisorption observed. mechanisms also analyzed based its physicochemical structure before after desorption N O functional groups, acting electron donors, promoted coordination making complexation dominant mechanism. Its contribution to mechanism could reach 44.81%. promising material both wastewater treatment resource utilization coal.
