Background: Long COVID (LC) is a multisystem clinical syndrome with functional disability and compromised overall health. Information on LC severity types emerging in cross-sectional studies. This study explored the pattern consistency of long over time prospective sample. Methods: Participants completed condition-specific outcome measure C19-YRSm (Yorkshire Rehabilitation Scale modified version) at two assessment points. A cluster analysis for was undertaken both points using k-means partition method. Results: The included data 759 patients mean age 46.8 years (SD = 12.7), 69.4% females, duration symptoms 360 days (IQR 217 to 703 days). first revealed three distinct type clusters: mild (n 96), moderate 422), severe 241). Longitudinal 356 that remained consistent between assessments, 51% switching assessments. Conclusions: its kind demonstrate time, also types, indicating fluctuating nature LC.

Introduction Fatigue is a frequent somatic symptom impacting health and well-being lately receiving increased attention as long-term consequence of COVID-19. Emerging evidence suggests that persons afflicted with fatigue symptoms are often stigmatized discriminated because their still poorly understood not recognizable to others. Existing stigma research mainly focused on specific medical conditions domains overlooked intersectional discrimination – the negative amplification effect intersecting social identities. Post-viral issues following acute infection with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), referred to widely as long COVID, are associated episodic, persistent, and disabling symptoms affecting quality of life functional status. Evidence demonstrates a significant impairment course, but there remains limited empirical data profile determine the fluctuating symptom COVID. We devised 16-week, multicentre prospective cohort observation study changes in patient-reported outcomes, biological, physiological, psychological, cognitive parameters diagnosis and/or referral an established COVID clinic. Following baseline assessments, participants completed four face-to-face visits interspersed telephone consultations. Face-to-face included physiological assessment, outcome measures (PROMs), status, respiratory function. Telephone consultations involved PROMs profiling. Patient-reported outcomes improved from week sixteen, demonstrated between visit fluctuations frequency severity. Further findings highlight severity profiles extent status impairment. The presented here episodic relapsing nature should be used help characterise disability. They can inform development COVID-specific guidelines support services that adequately respond reductions patient well-being.
