Polymers from renewable resources have been used for a long time in biomedical applications and found an irreplaceable role some of them.Their uses increasing because their attractive properties, contributing to the improvement life quality, mainly drug release systems regenerative medicine.Formulations using natural polymer, nano microscale particles preparation, composites, blends chemical modification strategies improve properties clinical application.Although many studies carried out with these polymers, way reach market is only very few them become commercially available.Vegetable cellulose, bacterial chitosan, poly(lactic acid) starch can be among most studied polymers biological applications, several derivatives already established market, others potential such.In this scenario work aims describe routes bench perspectives future developments.
