Grounded in a self-determination theory framework, this study examined the effectiveness of an autonomy-supportive intervention offered to secondary school STEM teachers and their students Singapore, with focus on increasing students' perceived teaching, motivation regulations, classroom engagement decreasing tension. A total 20 from three schools were randomly assigned into either experimental (n = 10) or control group. Teachers group underwent program encouraged implement new teaching style for weeks. Students both groups (Experimental 295, Control 251) filled pre- post-intervention questionnaires assess perceptions autonomy support, regulation, engagement, Repeated-measures multivariate analyses variance (MANOVAs) follow-up ANOVAs pairwise comparisons showed that group, compared reported longitudinal gains (M 3.58, SD .86 M 3.74, .83), some motivational regulations (i.e., identified 3.08, .95 3.36, .92), types behavioral .65 3.68, .66). Accumulating evidence, as outlined by Self-Determination Theory (SDT), highlights the crucial role of emotion dysregulation and basic psychological needs in shaping various outcomes. Parental control may play a key understanding how these processes develop within family context.
