Purpose The impact of enterprise social media (ESM) on employees is not always beneficial. constant connectivity ESM can trigger emotional issues, threatening employees' psychological states. This study aims to explore the potential risks usage thriving at work by examining how affects and for whom this relationship amplified. Design/methodology/approach Drawing Affect Event Theory, proposes a research model investigating underlying mechanisms boundary conditions negative impacts different patterns work. employed Smart-PLS 4.0 with structural equation modeling analyze multi-wave survey data from 255 employees, testing proposed model. Findings results indicate following: (1) triggers workplace fear missing out (WFoMO), increasing their online vigilance consequently hindering (2) WFoMO varies ambition levels, high-ambition being more susceptible effects (3) Different types exert distinct employees. Originality/value substantiates work, contributing literature “dark side” confirms critical mediating role emotion, offering novel theoretical perspective understanding linking its outcomes. Additionally, identifies moderating employee ambition, complementing usage.

Purpose Limited empirical research has examined the impact of enterprise social media (ESM) use in workplace on employees’ well-being and job satisfaction. Moreover, there remains a notable gap effective management strategies to fully leverage benefits ESM while mitigating its potential drawbacks. This study employs theories self-depletion resource conservation investigate mechanisms through which influences work flourishing, with particular emphasis mediating role fatigue moderating roles autonomy psychological detachment. Design/methodology/approach collected data from Chinese employees two waves via an online survey platform. After rounds collection, total 304 matched responses were obtained for analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted using Mplus, multi-level linear regression employed examine relationships between corporate use, fatigue, autonomy, detachment prosperity. Findings Social increases employee ( β = 0.258, p < 0.001), negatively impacting thriving at −0.362, 0.001). Job mitigates adverse relationship whereas moderates negative work. The effect is most pronounced when both are low. Research limitations/implications findings this enhance our understanding impacts underscore critical effects performance. Practical implications provides guidance workplace. Management should pay attention improving functionality ESM, effectively managing workplace, clearly defining boundaries activities. It also beneficial organizations provide create opportunities mitigate employees. Originality/value contributes literature by identifying as key mediator important moderators social-related

ABSTRACT Neurodivergent employees (NDEs) are characterized by different neurological profiles, including but not limited to autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and Tourette syndrome, face underrepresentation, undervaluation at work. This review employs the technology affordance lens a diversity inclusion model explore how social media (SM) can facilitate of NDEs. We propose technology‐inclusion framework as foundation for future testing delineating key variables relationships play. A narrative is adopted discuss our findings derived from comprehensive search relevant literature, which yielded 41 journal articles five book chapters. employed thematic analysis, facilitated ATLAS.ti's artificial intelligence coding function, critically analyze shortlisted through rigorous, iterative process. Our highlights three pathways (NDE‐related, leader‐related, peer‐related) that combination SM affordances enhancing inhibiting In particular, build self‐efficacy sense empowerment, facilitating accessible communication, connection. However, privacy personal safety concerns explain why sometimes undermine inclusion. In the current hybrid work context, significance of employee well-being and enduring concern over job insecurity have become increasingly emphasised. However, our understanding how intricate interplay among technology environment, individual behaviour, personal characteristics impacts remains incomplete. To bridge this knowledge gap, we proposed a moderated mediation model grounded on Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). This study delves into impact ubiquitous connectivity feature technological environment (encompassing compatibility presenteeism) insecurity. Additionally, explore mediating role behaviour (i.e. Enterprise social media (ESM) enabled embeddedness), moderating ESM self-efficacy) within these associations. By collaborating with large biotechnology company in China, conducted two-wave survey. 189 responses from both waves are used for final analysis using Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. The results revealed noteworthy effects ESM-enabled embeddedness significant self-efficacy. Both theoretical practical implications discussed.

The purpose paper investigate characteristics task and technology represented by enterprise social media (ESM) affect task-technology fit (TTF), which in turn affects EDP. Using TTF theory, proposes a research model validate question. An ordinary least squares method used analyze 284 questionnaire responses drawn from 33 provinces China. results indicate complexity has an inverted U-shaped effect on TTF, whereas interdependence no TTF. Work-related function ESM while social-related positive positively influences both digital-enabled innovative performance. Employee literacy strengthens impact performance, but does not moderate relationship between Organizational culture impacts From theoretical perspective, makes contribution theory revealing curvilinear task, This also contributes EDP literature clarifying EDP, identifying boundary conditions (namely organizational culture) practical point view, provides with insights terms assignment, training, building, etc.

However, the question of how encourage continuous rather than hiding on ESM has not received sufficient attention from scholars. In contrast previous studies that focused a single theory perspective behavior, this study, we took user cognition emotion constructed mechanism model impact among based as theory. A total 240 valid questionnaires were collected used empirically test model. The results indicate reciprocity outcome expectancy have significant positive effect employees' knowledge-sharing while trust negative knowledge-hiding behavior.
