Abstract
INTRODUCTION
The
apolipoprotein
E
gene
(
APOE
)
is
an
established
central
player
in
the
pathogenesis
of
Alzheimer's
disease
(AD),
with
distinct
apoE
isoforms
exerting
diverse
effects.

amyloid‐beta
and
tau
pathologies
but
also
lipid
energy
metabolism,
neuroinflammation,
cerebral
vascular
health,
sex‐dependent
manifestations.
Furthermore,
ancestral

may
significantly
impact

between
AD,

need

more
inclusive
research.
METHODS

researchers

discuss

topics,

Post-stroke
cognitive
impairment
(PSCI)
is
a
common
complication
following
stroke
that
significantly
affects
patients’
quality
of
life
and
rehabilitation
outcomes.

heavy
economic
burden.
There
an
urgent
need
to
better
understand
the
pathophysiology
pathogenesis
PSCI,
as

markers

predict
PSCI

in
clinical
