Contamination of borehole water by leachates from dumpsites has significantly affected the health those who use polluted for domestic activities. This study evaluated seasonal variations risks associated with potentially toxic elements in underground sources near a dumpsite Awka, Nigeria. The levels (PTEs) were compared World Health Organization (WHO) and Nigerian Standard Drinking Water Quality (NSDWQ) standard limits. The, PTEs, metal pollution index, quality ecological risk, health-related using evaluated. chemical results indicated that Cd Pb above WHO NSDWQ threshold limits potable water. Mn Ni values samples had PTE higher than control due to their proximity landfill. index ranged 1290.29–2243.04, showing is unsuitable drinking other uses. indices 1, indicating needs treatment before use. risk examination highlighted children are more disposed non-cancer adults based on hazard obtained. Also, probability cancer was high, both likely be danger risks. However, 11.187 51.581, low risk. Pearson's correlation principal component analysis revealed similar origins/sources linked anthropogenic Awareness programs necessary educate populace about dangers contaminated Effective waste management strategies techniques should implemented.

Urbanization and industrialization have drastically increased ambient air pollution in urban areas globally from vehicle emissions, solid fuel combustion industrial activities leading to some of the worst quality conditions. Air Ghana causes approximately 28,000 premature deaths disabilities annually, ranking as a cause mortality disability-adjusted life years. This study evaluated annual concentrations PM

The ecological and environmental concerns within Shandong Province's Bailang River basin in eastern China have garnered significant research attention. This study specifically delves into the issue of soil heavy metals (HM) pollution upstream area River. Diverse methodologies were employed to quantitatively assess status, implications, associated health risks posed by HM. Geostatistical methods facilitated a spatial analysis variations, while Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was utilized attribute sources pollutants. found be at moderate level pollution, with Cd (Coefficient Variation, CV = 37%), Ni (CV 49%), Hg 69%) identified as primary pollutants both quantitative analyses risk assessments. Overall, concentration HM higher western than zone, suggesting central zone. Human evaluations indicated that non-carcinogenic (Total Hazard Index – THI) for adults children met acceptable thresholds (0.11 0.98). However, 57.14% faced unacceptable risks, primarily attributed Chromium (Cr) Arsenic (As) exposure. Carcinogenic Risk TCRI) an risk. Oral intake method absorption. Qualitative major sources, including natural emissions traffic, coal combustion, agricultural activities, iron steel production. provides valuable insights safeguarding comprehensive evaluation pollution.
