Cotton is a vital fiber crop for the global textile industry, but rising temperatures due to climate change threaten its growth, quality and yields. Heat stress disrupts key physiological biochemical processes, affecting carbohydrate metabolism, hormone signaling, calcium gene regulation expression. This review article explores cotton's defense mechanism against heat stress, including epigenetic regulations transgenic approaches, with focus on genome editing tools. Given limitations of traditional breeding, advanced omics technologies such as GWAS, transcriptomics, proteomics, ionomics, metabolomics, phenomics CRISPR-Cas9 offer promising solutions developing heat-resistant cotton varieties. highlights need innovative strategies ensure sustainable production under change.

In this perspective article, several internationally recognized experts, members of the editorial team journal, discuss a selection current hot topics identified in Food Science and Foodomics. The are comprised main areas Foodomics, namely, food safety, authenticity, processing, bioactivity. Logically, discussed involve more than one mentioned areas. Regarding use analytical nanotechnology, nanometrology, nano-chromatography; determination organic contaminants based on MS NMR; impact microplastics nanoplastics or contamination foods with plant toxins. paper discusses role MS, NMR, biosensors new trends foodomics for authentication. terms work shows interesting perspectives novel processing technologies, effect gut microbiota interaction among secondary metabolites macromolecules; development active packaging, potential effects introducing recycled plastics packaging; green extraction encapsulation strategies bioactive compounds from by-products; anti-biofilm capacity natural compounds/extracts/vegetal oils essential oils. bioactivity relation between health includes bioavailability bioaccessibility compounds; challenges nutraceuticals biological systems; how matrix impacts nutrients study biodiversity, human through one-health concept. We anticipate elaborations these will promote further studies

The present study comprises the second part of our previous work that dealt mainly with phytochemical and physicochemical characterization commercial unroasted green coffee beans, clove, cinnamon–clove nutmeg ethanolic extracts grape origin. In study, we focused on producing a discriminating model concerning cinnamon, cinnamon clove mixture (1:1, w/w), fine powders based multivariate analysis variance supervised learning from tentative data volatile compounds analysis, carried out solid phase dynamic extraction in combination gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Results showed 7 compounds, i.e., ethylene, methanol, 3-methylpentane, ethyl acetate, 9-hexadecen-1-ol, toluene, methyl could differentiate investigated samples resulting 100% classification rate using cross-validation method linear discriminant analysis. were further confirmed partial least squares regression contributes to typification mixture, nutmeg, selected compounds. addition, provides support literature by means possible substitution these products rapid tests, given statistical models developed.

In this study, new monolithic poly(9-anthracenylmethyl methacrylate-co-trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) columns, referred as ANM monoliths were prepared, for the first time, and used separation media biomolecules proteomics analysis by nano-liquid chromatography (nano-LC). Monolithic columns prepared in situ polymerization of 9-anthracenylmethyl methacrylate (ANM) trimethylolpropane a fused silica capillary column 100 µm ID. Polymerization solution was optimized relation to monomer porogenic solvent. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) chromatographic analyses performed characterization studies monoliths. The monolith produced more than 46.220 plates/m, evaluation carried out using homologous alkylbenzenes (ABs) polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), allowing both strong hydrophobic π-π interactions. Run-to-run column-to-column reproducibility values found <2.91% 2.9–3.2%, respectively. final biomolecule separation, including three dipeptides, Alanine-Tyrosine (Ala-Tyr), Glycine-Phenylalanine (Gly-Phe), L-carnosine five standard proteins, ribonuclease A (RNase A), α-chymotrypsinogen (α-chym), lysozyme (Lys), cytochrome C (Cyt C), myoglobin (Mb) order evaluate its potential. Both peptides proteins baseline separated developed nano-LC. then applied protein peptide profiling MCF-7 cell line, which allowed high-resolution peptides, providing high peak capacity.
