In today’s global context, the escalation of air pollution stands out as an immensely critical environmental challenge that has attained a worldwide magnitude. This pressing issue not only impacts every living organism on our planet but is also intricately linked to phenomenon climate change. The significant increase in vehicular traffic, rapid urbanization, and infrastructure development have indirectly contributed higher concentration harmful gaseous particulate pollutants atmosphere, posing serious risks human health. Extensive research thoroughly documented adverse effects these pollutants, with mortality morbidity rates varying depending type pollutant duration exposure. However, amidst this crisis, green plants emerge cost-effective promising solution combat pollution, presenting several additional benefits. Specifically, pollutiontolerant plant species are crucial reducing ambient urban heat island effect. To assess plant’s tolerance towards experts use index (APTI), which calculates factors such ascorbic acid, total chlorophyll, pH, relative water content plant. determination provides reliable method for categorizing into either tolerant or sensitive types face pollution. Moreover, morphological characteristics leaves, stomata distribution density, cuticle thickness, trichome play essential role adsorbing absorbing matter from air. These inherent qualities further enhance plants’ potential sustainable manner, making them valuable assets future. light this, present review highlights impressive capacity remediate explores various strategies employed endeavor. By leveraging remarkable capabilities plants, we opportunity address crisis embrace path times come. organisms could be saviors need protect environment secure healthier future all.

Urban green spaces have long been cherished as the "lungs of city", it can not only improve air quality and enhance residents' health. The impact urban on pollution health has attracted great attention. In this paper, we select 31 provinces in China research samples use ArcGIS software to draw spatial distribution maps spaces, pollution, China, characterizing their spatiotemporal changes order explore whether there is a correlation among three. On basis, paper utilizes panel data Chinese provincial-level from 2010 2020 conducts empirical tests through two-way fixed effect model threshold regression model. findings are follows: (1) bring environmental benefits, but also benefits greater than benefits. (2) There risk northern significant. Conversely, no southern (3) Although regulations role enhancing may be further weakened economy develops.

Global challenges around biodiversity loss, climate change, and public health are heightening the importance of urban green spaces for supporting ecosystem services human wellbeing. Trees, parks forests integrated across cityscapes proposed strategies to combat change promote current future cities. This is true small spaces, perhaps just < 1 ha in size. Depending on their structure size, these can provide structural vegetation complexity, species diversity, regulate temperatures offer thermal comfort. These also recreation opportunity, nature experience, sense belonging, restoration people. As cities densify, it crucial understand where dimensions intersect theory practice design manage particular, as systems may be easier than large implement planning. In this paper, we narratively review known biophysical ecological properties that support biodiversity, temperature regulation resilience, ultimately benefit residents' through different use activities multisensory experiences Furthermore, how stakeholder engagement participatory processes guide equitable space provision design, case studies our own research examples. doing so, paper aims further understanding social-ecological calls inter- transdisciplinary generates insight protect places a changing climate.

Urban parks are vital green spaces where people can participate in various activities. A favorable acoustic-visual environment is crucial for satisfaction, and perception may vary depending on the behavioral state. This study aimed to examine of undertaking different behaviors (sitting, walking, acoustic) explore relationship between acoustic visual perceptions satisfaction. The was conducted using questionnaire surveys (N = 1044) three urban Quanzhou, China. results showed that (1) respondents had perceptions, (2) satisfaction influenced by perception, (3) overall both (4) acoustic, visual, could be predicted via multiple linear regression. Based design strategies this study, a more comfortable activity proposed.

Research on the relationship between greenspace morphology and health is a growing field that informs spatial design of to enhance outcomes. This study reviews current progress, methodologies, knowledge gaps in this area. From database search 272 940 English articles 39 053 Chinese up April 18, 2024, we identified 22 7 studies topic for further evaluation. Predominantly cross-sectional neighbourhood-scale analyses were conducted using land cover maps ranging from 0·25 100 meters resolution. Six primary characteristics have been studied, including size, shape, fragmentation, connectedness, aggregation, diversity. While associations outcomes observed, both their reliability generalisability remain suggestive due ecological designs heterogeneity among studies. Future research should prioritise individual-level prospective cohorts intervention Exploring mechanisms linking health, determining optimal map resolution, distinguishing it greenness magnitude statistical analysis essential. evidence crucial health-promoting planning be routinely integrated into urban epidemiological research.

Urban green-blue spaces (UGBS) can benefit residents’ well-being through multiple pathways. Previous studies have confirmed that the quantity and composition of UGBS promote neighborhood social cohesion, which subsequently contributes to physical mental health. However, there has been little attention paid spatial patterns in such relationships. This study adopted landscape pattern indexes characterize explored mediation effect cohesion between well-being, measured by self-rated health (SRH) happiness. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) was used for analyses with data obtained from 2018 Shandong Provincial Social Survey Questionnaire (SGSS), included 773 selected residents urban areas. The results indicated (1) a SRH happiness; (2) aggregation diversity had greater impacts on enhancing than size, complexity, fragmentation; (3) indirect effects improving happiness SRH, direct positive SRH. By focusing this extends current debates pathways among UGBS, public planning strategies were proposed increase benefits
