The accessibility and utilization of Urban Green Spaces (UGSs) play a crucial role in enhancing the health benefits overall quality life for urban residents. However, it is evident that not just single factor, but rather multitude factors, influence use UGSs. Consequently, this study aims to systematically review determinants UGSs, highlighting their complex interrelations through socio-ecological framework. By conducting literature across two major databases, Scopus Web Science (WOS), total 163 articles published between 1988 January 31, 2024, were included study. analysis provides an overview reviewed studies, focusing on aspects such as publication year, geographical distribution, research designs, classifications sampling techniques, sample populations, assessment measures. Furthermore, identifies key affecting individuals' including personal/individual, socio-cultural, physical/environmental, institutional, transport, psychological factors. Based these findings, conceptual framework proposed better understand dynamics UGS use. This designed aid planners designers improving equalizing distribution UGSs meet diverse needs community comprehensively serves foundational guide future research.

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the role of urban parks as green spaces in mitigating social isolation and supporting public mental health. Research this area is limited due to lack large-scale datasets. Moreover, timely studies are indeed necessary under conditions. This study employs quantitative methods analyze temporal spatial changes interaction 160 before, during, after pandemic, assesses their correlation with built environment. Social media data from Dianping platform were collected for purpose. A two-step analytical approach was employed: first, machine learning-based keyword analysis identified review related interaction, leading construction two indicators: intensity recovery rate. Second, we applied regression models explore between indicators 18 characteristics environment associated varied across different periods, seven factors, including natural landscapes, perceptual experience, building density, road intersections, showing significant correlations capabilities post-pandemic era. Based on these findings, it recommended that planners consider integrating more flexible design element, such adding greenery enriching audio-visual experience visitors. Furthermore, enhancing quality accessibility park amenities can foster thereby contributing health resilience future crises. research recommends should not only support communities’ immediate needs but also prepare unforeseen challenges.

The objective of this study was to document the current knowledge on characteristics measured at community level and their relationship individual or well-being. review specifically focuses studies in urban locations. main aim describe organize evidence-based strengths using a multidimensional portfolio approach resilience. A scoping PRISMA-ScR guidelines performed through searches English-language articles PsycINFO PubMed databases. Inclusion criteria encompassed deficit factors assessed community-level analysis. Our initial produced pool 2,246 articles, with 87 meeting full for review. Community-level variables were often as deficits risk factors. Most conducted North America. Relationships between well-being showed mixed results social but, more consistently, positive associations strengths-based measures natural built environments such access green spaces walkability. Models resilience, including those focused individuals, should include environmental characteristics. Findings suggest foundational concepts resilience model complement individual-focused models currently use.

Abstract Urban parks became critical for maintaining the well-being of urban residents during COVID-19 global pandemic. To examine impact on park usage, we selected New York City (NYC) and used SafeGraph mobility data, which was collected from a large sample mobile phone users, to assess change in visits travel distance based 1) type, 2) income level visitor census block group (visitor CBG) 3) that (park CBG). All analyses were adjusted temperature visitation, focused primarily made by NYC residents. Overall, eight most popular types NYC, dropped 49.2% 2019 2020. The peak reduction occurred April Visits all types, excluding Nature Areas, decreased March December 2020 as compared 2019. Parks located higher-income CBGs tended have lower reductions visits, with this pattern being driven parks, including Flagship Parks, Community Areas. saw significant decreases traveled visit them, exception Jointly Operated Playground, Area types. Visitors originating lower-income shorter distances had less those CBGs. Furthermore, both before pandemic, people greater high-income low-income Finally, multiple proved crucial destinations This included Areas remained stable, along Recreation Field/Courts relatively small especially communities. Results study can support future planning shedding light different uses certain crisis, when access these facilities help alleviate human consequences “lockdown” policies.
