We evaluated effectiveness Caregiver Support Intervention (CSI), which emphasizes caregiver wellbeing together with training positive parenting. Methods conducted a two‐arm randomized controlled trial CSI Syrian refugees Lebanon, an intent‐to‐treat design, from September 2019–December 2020. A total 480 caregivers 240 families were to or waitlist control group (1:1). Retention baseline endline was 93%. Data psychological collected at baseline, endline, three‐month follow‐up. Prospective registration: ISRCTN22321773. Results did not find significant change overall skills (primary outcome endpoint) ( d = .11, p .126) follow‐up (Cohen's .15, .054). effect among participants receiving full intervention—the sub‐sample interrupted by (COVID‐19) 0.25, < .05). Changes partially mediated impact parenting, accounting for 37% reduction Conclusions reduced distress, demonstrated value addressing as pathway strengthening adversity. These achieved despite pandemic‐related lockdown that impacted implementation, severe economic crisis, widespread social unrest. Replication under less extreme conditions may more accurately demonstrate intervention's potential.

Almost half of the world's forcibly displaced population are children, most commonly originating from Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Health disparities well documented, especially for mental health, but not consistent across groups, time or context. Despite high exposure to trauma stress, refugee children also show remarkable resilience. An ecological model health including both risk resilience factors is therefore recommended. The includes dynamic inter-relationship past traumatic experiences, ongoing daily stressors disruptions basic systems affecting individual families as a whole, offering framework better understand appropriate interventions children.

Forced displacement is associated with elevated risk for poor psychosocial wellbeing, yet there remains a lack of clarity around the effectiveness commonly implemented support interventions focused on preventing disorder and promoting wellbeing. This study aimed to synthesize literature evaluations populations affected by forced displacement. We searched peer reviewed gray in seven databases (PubMed, Embase, Global Health, CINAHL, SocIndex, PsychInfo, PILOTS), fifteen organizational websites, via solicitation through multiple networks. Various designs were included, criteria that they report an evaluation intervention delivered displacement, included quantitative or qualitative data outcomes. Records screened independently two reviewers at both title/abstract full-text review; was double-extracted quality assessed, discrepancies resolved consensus. Meta-analyses outcomes conducted subset 33 studies. We identified 162 reports. Over half (55%) used single-group design, fewer using non-random (19%) randomized (21%) comparisons. Study incorporating comparison conditions less likely positive findings than studies. In meta-analyses, moderately strong overall effect found wellbeing (ES: -0.534, 95% CI: [-0.870, -0.197], p=.005); small effects internalizing -0.152, [-0.310, 0.005], p= .057) externalizing -0.249, [-0.515, 0.016], p=.064) problems promising but not conclusive. Subgroup analysis suggested differential impacts adults (improvement; ES: -0.289, [-0.435, -0.143], p=.001) children (worsening; 0.129, [.054, 0.204], p=.002). Other subgroup analyses showed little meaningful variation context, population, characteristics.Pragmatic, field-driven program are dominated significant bias. Findings from controlled studies highlight need more rigorous research causal inference, align theories change, improve measurement wellbeing-focused outcomes, examine differences, potentially negative impacts.

Overall, findings suggest that cognitive behavioural therapy may improve depression symptoms emergencies. Narrative exposure reduce feelings guilt. However, impact other MHPSS modalities across outcomes is inconsistent. In some contexts, providing involving creative activities increase people. These emphasise need development can safely effectively address diverse needs living adversarial environments.

Abstract Migrant mental health is a pressing public issue with wide-ranging implications.
